Photoperiod First time DWC grow - big bazooka and the future #1

All bar one big bazooka and one the future have shown their roots through the net! I’ve dropped the level in each bucket and tomorrow I will do a complete res change and clean out and top back up with the Remo nutrients.

Complete res change with the Remo nutrients today, I went full strength as the ec is quite low with this brand. The solution in every bucket is filled too approximately one once below the net pots. I also placed foil on top of the bucket lids in a bid to reflect light back up and keep the buckets cooler. Anyone have and ideas of this is efficient? I can’t see it being detrimental but not sure if it’s beneficial.
Ph 6, EC 1

Help!!!!

two of the plants have started dropping. It’s not much but it is evident. The tips on one of the roots are brown but not sure if it’s the onset of rot or nuts stain. I’ve removed the foil as the light reflecting on to the underside of the leaves may be damaging the plants. Any advice guys?

Don't worry too much about drooping leaves. The plants will transpire more water when it is warm. 25C is good day time temp? What are your EC/PPMs if they are too low then the plant will take on more water in an attempt to get more nutrients. I would be running about 400 PPM (not counting the starting water) at this stage of growth.

@Mañ'O'Green 25 is about as hot as it gets during lights on. I remember I bought some ice packs so I’ve dumped them into the affected buckets. PH is 5.9 to 6. PPM is 450 in the buckets right now. I also filled the resovoirs to the bottom of each bucket now as I thought they may be searching too much for food. Is all of this ok? I’m pulling my hair out with stress over this.
Cheers man

Do you mean to the bottom of the net pots? be sure you have an air-gap of at least 1/2" to the bottom of the net pot. You do not want water to wick up into the starter cubes.
Is 450 the total PPM or just the nutrients? What is the PPM of your starting water?

@Mañ'O'Green yes the bottom of the net pots. I’ve dropped the solution now to as you said. ive heard about the air gap but thought the droopiness could have been caused by the plant not being able to access the nutrients properly as they’re still quite young. The PPM of my starting water is 59, so basically as pure as it gets with RO. I checked in the girls this morning and they’re all looking happy again, let’s hope they stay this way. One plant has a strange discolouration on one of its leaves too, I’m unsure of what this is. The roots below this one look fine. I am still also a little concerned about the browning of the root tips though, is this normal? Their more of a dark beige than brown and they don’t smell like something is rotten or otherwise foul either.

@Daipot The PPM of RO water is ZERO. The color on that one plant is called variegation and is genetic - nothing to worry about. Are you running Botanicare HydroGuard?
