New Grower First Grow : Short Stuff Onyx, CFL, Rubbermaid

The fan and tent have arrived. The tent is still in its box since I still need odds and ends before it is fully setup. Not to mention clearing more room in my closet. The fan is substantial though. Very heavy. I have been thinking of switching to T5s come tax return time.

Plants are on day 50. The smallest plant in the yellow planter is tiny. It will probably yield a bowls worth. However, the plant in the blue container has taken off. It has grown a ton!

Glad to hear your new supplies have arrived! Have fun getting everything setup and ready.
That little Onyx is so cool. It puts a huge smile on my face every time I see it! :D

The plants are moving along. I need to get a filter up this weekend as they're starting to smell noticeably. Week 10 will be on the 22nd so my guess is anytime between then and a week later. Will watch and see. I have a luminated 60-100x pocket microscope on its way and a digital scale. I ordered some seeds that should be here Monday or Tuesday. 10 regular MI5s. The freebies are : CH9 fem Bubba Kush 33, CH9 fem White Shark 33, 2 regular DNA Gen. LA Confidential, Barneys Farm fem Pineapple Chunk, and Green House fem Super Lemon Haze.

Newest photos are from today, Day 59. The smallest plant really is tiny it won't need any leaf trimming! Still haven't set the new tent up yet. Hopefully soon!

Nice, flwr! That little thing gives micro-growing a whole new meaning. :wiz:

I'm envious of the seeds you got coming. That's a kick ass deal!

If I may, a little advice: Fill your pots up to the brim with soil. More room for roots to grow. When the pots aren't full and then tapered as well, they'll get root bound quick.

Happy Growing!

Very true about the soil! I always make that mistake even with my flowers. I need to realize the soil will settle over time causing the soil line to lower. I might have been able to yield more if I had done so. It settled down quite a bit in already small containers. Should have left the bigger one in a 3 gallon.

Thanks for posting those pics flwr, I am still not happy about how microscopic my plants are, but at least i know now that I am not the only one.

Yeah, why not finish them out. I am glad I did. Good practice for a first time grower like myself. Now I know that my new soil and feeding seems to agree with the Onyx. Nice green leaves! At least now I know how to improve on the next grow.

Thinking of putting the tiny one into darkness for 24 hrs then harvesting. All the pistils have turned orange and shriveled up. It seems like the plant itself has shrunk too. It is on day 66. Not sure if I should wait or not. It really doesn't have any fan leaves to yellow up at all. There is pretty much nothing to this plant. The larger Onyx is definetly not ready. I have noticed the fan leaves have begun to yellow though. Will add a photo soon. I attempted to check it with my pocket microscope the other day. Very difficult. I read that it is recommended to pull off a leaf to examine trichs. However, nothing to pull off on that plant. From what I could see it was cloudy.

if its all cloudy i would harvest
use the microscope on the bud itself

Well, it is all cloudy.

Here it is Day 59 and Day 64 (today). I just went ahead and put it into the dark.
