First coco grow with lotus nutrients and GH Flora Series

Week 2 Update: Today the girls are both 14 days since they broke ground. I have been feeding until about 30 percent runoff each day once a day. I am giving both plants a half gallon each day and have been testing runoff and PH. Each feed is at 500 ppm and my runoff for each plant is at 550 to 600 ppm. My PH going in is at 6.0 and the PH coming out is at 6.2. Starting tomorrow I will begin watering/feeding twice a day to keep the ppm and ph in a comfortable range. 500 ppm is the max I am going to use at the moment. The plants seem to handling 500 really well. The temperature is 68 lights off and 73 lights on. RH is steady at 60 to 62 percent. I have never had plants this big at 2 weeks. Any feedback and tips are welcome. Thanks for looking. My cat ate some of the leaves.

Borderline nitrogen toxicity: I have noticed my leaves are getting waxy looking, new growth starting to curl, and some of the leaves are starting to wrinkle. Going to reduce my feed back down to 400 ppm. I do believe 500 is to much at this stage.

What all are you feeding is this just a one part? can you use reduce the N?

I am following the coco for cannabis GH feed chart. I have been following it and I am using the 7-14 feed strength. I am reducing the feed from 550 back down to 400. I am using the 3 part with additives. Instead of 2.5 of micro, 2.5 of grow, and .6 of bloom. I am going to drop it down to 1.5 of micro, 1.5 of grow, and .6 of bloom. That puts the ppm around 390 to 400. I should have used reduced strength from the beginning but I thought the plants could handle it. Trying to nip this in the butt before it gets to bad.

Mid week update: Today I trimmed off a few big leaves covering the side branches of each plant. Still trying to lower the nitrogen levels while keeping the proper NER of each feed. I am feeding/watering twice a day now. The plants are drinking more and more each day. Both plants are starting to show their sex. I am hoping I can keep both plants. I have never had autos this big at such a young age. I imagine when they start the stretch, they will grow to big plants. Really enjoying this coco grow. If everything goes well, I will stick with coco from here on out. Thanks for looking. All feedback is welcome. Enjoy your day and happy Thanksgiving to all. Will post again at 3 weeks. Take care.

Day 21: Today the girls are 21 days since they broke ground. I have corrected the nitrogen toxicity and I am slowly increasing my ppm from 380 back to 500. Both plants have pistols showing. I am feeding 1.6ml of micro, 1.6ml of grow, .6ml of bloom, 3ml of diamond nectar, and 1ml of rapid start. My ph is steady at around 5.8 to 6.0. The temperature is 68 lights off and 74 lights on. The humidity is steady at 60. I am not doing any training on the plants. I am going to let them grow naturally. All advice is welcome. Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend.

Mid week update: Nothing much has changed besides the plants growth. These are the biggest autos I have ever had at this stage. Pistols are popping up everywhere and they are starting to stretch. I am going to add silica to my nutrient solution from now until harvest. I have read mixed information on silica. Do I use until harvest or stop using it when the plants are in flower? Some say yes and some say no. Since the plants are becoming mini monsters, I will probably end up cutting one down to make sure I have enough room in my 3x3 tent. As of now I am feeding with 3ml of cal/mag, 1.4ml of micro, 1.4ml of grow, .6ml of bloom, 3ml of diamond nectar, and 1ml of rapid start. The plants seem to like this ratio. I will start adding 1ml of silica starting today. I am fertigating twice a day with about 30 percent runoff. I am making sure all the old salts are washed out and replaced with new. Thanks for looking. All advice is welcome. Have a good day.

4 week update: Today is day 28 since the seedling broke ground. It’s already over a foot tall and is branching out nicely. I did remove one of the plants so my main one can have the room it needs. I am not using any lotus nutrients. I am only using the General Hydroponics flora series from here on out. I am using 1.5ml of micro, 1.6ml of grow, .6 of bloom, 2.5ml of diamond nectar, 1ml of rapid root, 3ml of calmag, and .7ml or silica. The ppm after all of this is 410. My ph going in is around 5.8 to 6.0 and it’s the same coming out. I am watering until about 30 percent runoff twice a day. Temperature in the tent is at 74 high and 67 low. RH is steady at 60 percent. My light is at 75 percent power and is about 2 feet above the plant. My PPFD is about 520. Thanks for looking.

Day 35 update: Today my girl is 5 weeks old. She is a monster already. She is over 2 feet tall at such a young age. Absolutely loving growing in coco. I am using 1.8ml of micro, 1.9ml of grow, 1ml of bloom, 2ml of diamond nectar, 2ml of calmag, and .7ml of silica. I am watering twice a day with about 30 percent runoff each time. My ppm is around 430 going in and around 250 coming out. My ph in is 5.8 and my ph out is 6.2. Temperature at lights out is 68 and lights on at 73. The humidity is steady at 60 percent. I did some research about why my ppm is so low with runoff. From what I read the plant is needing more nutrients than what I am giving it. I am going to start bumping up the ppm to 500. Even with the low ppm, the plant seems to be doing great. I will more than likely be using coco from hear on out. Coco grows were always intimidating for some reason. Now that I am doing it, it’s the easiest way to grow in my opinion. More demanding but that’s what I want. Thanks for looking. All feedback is welcome. Am I correct to bump up my ppm because my runoff is way lower than what’s actually going in? I hope that made sense…..Enjoy your weekend.
