New Grower First grow journal

Howdy CappY..Glad to hear you may have the gal's feeling better..As for harvest time..I'd say way too early to say yet..The seed company list a about timing..But its not the gospil from what I've read...

:peace:

Added molasses to my mix and gave Salona a good feeding today.
Got home on time today so I am sharing a (pretty ?) pic of a bud in natural lighting:

Race to the finish

Well. It's been quite a journey this first grow, and I am now in a race I don't want to be in. I am currently on day 58 from sprout and trying to keep Salona alive long enough to reach an early harvest.
Low quality fertilizer and unreliable pH tools have brought me to a point where she has several deficiencies and nute burn at the same time, which seems odd because I haven't increased nutrient feed and have recently flushed with pH'd spring water.
I have my third (third time's a charm I hope) pH meter on the way but I'm not sure it will be on time to make much of a difference, assuming it works.
In desperation, I scaled back on volume by 25% and concentration by about 15% and added 1/2 a tsp of baking soda to the last feeding. Not sure how much I've raised the pH by, but it seemed certain that my soil pH is way too low.
It's been depressing of late, watching all these green plants in grow journals and watching poor Salona yellow and wither away.

Almost all leaves are affected in some way, and I am not sure what I can do at this stage, besides provide a good example of everything going wrong at once.
The one good thing is that she's still doing her best to keep on growing her buds so I gotta ask: Is there a point where I should consider chopping her down early ? Judging from the pics below, how much more time should I (try to) give her before harvest ?

I I where you I'd just see for how long she'll go on. Every day she survises is another bit added to harvest IMO.
And seeing your already on week 8 I'd only give her pH'ed water from here of on to flush her. If she keeps looking like this just let her go for a as long as she'll go (hopefully one or two weeks more) if she get's to bad than chop her sooner.
Too bad for this grow man. Hope you'll still get a nice harvest of of her. :karma Cloud:

Just finished checking on her today and she is growing new pistils on most of her buds. I've decided to keep feeding until this weekend before switching to pure water and the two week countdown. Crossing my fingers in hopes that she still has some life left in her.

Day 65

If you've been following my journal, you would know that things have been far less than ideal for Salona. Specialized nutrients and soil don't exist where I live, and the price of importing them put them out of reach. Salona is still alive and kicking however, and I have (tentatively) set April 25th/day85 as her harvest date. Not sure how visible it is on the uploaded pics, but the trichs are still mostly clear so I will go as long as I can with her.

Waira had suggested to me a line of concentrated, water soluble nutrients. I was unable to find them, but it gave me something new to look for and I finally have nutes with NPK ratios: a 30-10-10, 18-18-18 and 10-52-10 trio, as well as a cal-mag alternative and another supplement that contains all the rare earth elements that plants require. Not ideal A1 stuff, but at least I know what I'm working with, which should help me improve on future grows.
I gave Salona some of the 18-18-18 and 10-52-10 mix to see if that helps her out any.
In the mean time, I've got new pots and soil ready to go, and have my next seed in a moist paper towel. Hopefully by the time I'm chopping down Salona, I will have a new girl vegging and a better looking grow under way.

That's the spirit pal, onwards and upwards, your going to have some smoke in the jar whilst watching the new girl grow :Sharing One:

Man I think you're doing a blinding job considering your location. With all the tools I've had some recent fails and it's all a learning curve.
Peace
