New Grower First grow journal

Thanks for the feedback. I never transplanted the container, just moved her to a proper grow tent. She's a roughly 12l bucket. I started on the veg nutes last week, at 25% strength.
At the moment a pH meter is something I will be frantically searching for when my plant starts dying...
I will try to get one soon as it seems to be mentioned as a necessity everywhere by everyone.

I never PH'd in my life of growing things... Until I met the Autoflower Ganja. 6.5 stays alive! :soil::Growing:

Anyone have any suggestions on keeping the humidity stable ? I'm thinking about switching the lights to 24/0 but I'm worried about causing stress as she's just starting to bloom.
Also have some slight yellowing on some of the new growth. Looks like it may be iron deficiency to my untrained eye. Will post pictures when the lights are back on if she hasn't recovered.

Hi Cappy, what is you current RH range?

What is your pH? Did you get that meter?

Normally in the 40-60 range but can drop below 20 when I open the tent and as high as 90 when the lights are off.
I went shopping for one today but no luck. Found one online and should have it in a couple of days.

Day 30

Salona is 30 days old today, and it seems like a good time for an update.
I mentioned some yellowing on new growth earlier, but it seems to have faded and doesn't seem visible in the picture. Will share anyways because I'm sure there's plenty my untrained eye can miss:

Does the color seem
off to you ?

First pic below is from yesterday and the other 2 from today. She is sprouting a lot of pistils, but still heavy veg. She seems to be putting out a new pair of leaves every couple of days. I'm guessing that's a pretty good rate of growth.

Can't wait till she starts focusing on buds :Growing::smokeit:

Hi Cappy, humidity sounds ok, if you can keep it closer to 60 or 65% for veg would be even better.

It does look like some slight mottling in the first picture; are you using cal/mag in your water?

That looks like you got some mag deficiency going on. Earlier stages but, I would make sure to adress it in your next watering. Can do foliar sprays a few times a little while before the lights turn on. Like half hour or so. This way the moister doesnt sit there long enough to cause potential mold issues. Also, spraying during its day cycle can cause stress to the leaves, and or make some burn spots.

Im not sure if you using any molasses but, that has magnesium in it. Though, a cal/mag supplement would service your needs for cal/mag deficiencies a lot better.

edit: I didnt see oldsters post -_-:face:

either way. Hope it helps lol.

Definitely going to have to order everything online because garden supply stores here all seem to have the same generic nutrients. They are also super cheap and wouldn't surprise me if they were just food coloring and water or toxic.

Salona's first Near Death Experience !

So I've been holding off watering for a few days, planning for a flush before upping the nutrients. Two nights ago I noticed what appeared to be heat stress on some of the upper growth. I figure she's grown too close to the light and I raise it up a few inches.

Heat stress ?

The next morning I check on her before work and she seems unchanged. When I arrived back home and took another look, I almost shat myself. It was shocking how fast a plant can go from looking fine to looking like it's about to die.

I'm guessing the surface soil still appeared moist because of condensation build up every "night" when the lights are off. Seeing the plant like that, I could only pray she was thirsty as I don't think I could save her from anything else. So I began my almost literal flush (yes that's a toilet she's on) and hoped for the best...

Thankfully, Salona began to quickly recover.
Here she is, less than 40 minutes later.

And again 105 minutes after flushing.

Other than some leaf tips still curled, she's looking completely recovered"pher Wiggle". Still a frightful event that I hope no-one here has to go through.
I imagine it will cost me some bud in the long run, so I'm hoping for smooth sailing from here to harvest.

Looks like you did what you gal wanted..Keep up the learning as I need to also

Thanks :peace:
