I've got more butane so I'm planned to do one more run for now. I chopped up 30 grams each of BBG, GSC, and WC so 90g with 6 cans. Letting it air dry for a couple more days before blasting. Hoping to manage some pretty shatter this time.

Been taking the same learning curve with fine tuning tincture and deciding best extraction method moving forward with creating cartridges. Been trying grain fir the past year with flower. Lately been doing grain and kief. I think I’m about to order dabpress and move past the grain and soak to just using it as a thinner. Been stumbling on lipids and fats that are remaining in suspension burning during my reduction( I think).Probably burning them but also working towards refining my input source. The press should help but still weighing out whether it can be done with grain and reducing then adding E juice.

Third round playing around and I was clearly burning the VG. Did a reduction as far as possible with just distilling grain and no contamination showed up. Keep on getting better every round. Been all over the piles of info in the extraction section.

On a side note was having a convo with bud about another guy who just happens to already have a super nice vacuum oven from a family member who was in the jewelry mold making industry. Now to keep my eyes open for one of them. Cheap ones online around $600 fir a .9 cu ft. No vacuum pump. Wonder how they work.

Why thank you FB. Yeah lots of learning in this hobby of ours eh. Ohhhhhhh a dabpress like the fancy one @tripaholic88 is using - nice. I thought about that but a bit more $ than I am prepared to put out ATM.

Oh yes indeed - it gets the job done. A lazy weekend and several inches of rain so I didn't even cut the feckin grass!

If your end goal is e liquid for cartridges you may be interested in some stuff that I found. You add a few CCs (3 I think) to a gram of wax, nuke it for 10 seconds and stir. Works pretty good and does not separate. Unfortunately the cartridge I was using leaked. I think it was because I did not let the liquid cool completely before I injected it into the cartridge. I will have to find the bottle. I'm sure the cat knocked it off the shelf so it's buried in his pile of crap under my desk. I was planning on trying it again with my new wax.

Yeah I used to be the manufacturing manager for a electronics company. We used to mold all kinds of sensors in epoxies, urethanes, and silicones, so I'm very familiar with environmental chambers, vacuum chambers and vacuum ovens. The ovens work good but a bit overkill for my needs, but would be great for working on a commercial level.

Moreish as in I want I want more - yeah have to agree.
Never had or even seen shatter so thanks for the warning assuming I ever manage it. I liked the texture of the first batch - a tacky wax at room temp. You can usually break off a piece without any sticking to your fingers. Second batch is way too sticky for that.

@Frenjamin Banklin the stuff I found to make ejuice from concentrates is called wax liquidizer. You add 2ml to 1 gram of wax, nuke for 10 seconds, and stir.

I’ve seen lots of the wax liquidizer products but wasn’t sure of any of the brands. I placed an order with MAss Terpenes but would like to try other brands also. Can’t you recommend a place to purchase what you have. Being new I am also curious what they are all using in these blends? Will be ordering the press tonight but with try the QWET as soon ad my order of Liquefy gets here.
Then just to decide best method for time yield and taste. Wondering about some of the folks that also soak the rosin and then winterize. Wondering if that with the second higher temp press can be used with added terps to get flavor if I use activated charcoal to clean up color and extra stuff.

Another batch of BHO today.30g each of BBG, WC, & GSC. Chopped and air dried for a few extra days down to 50% rh, so it weighed about 85g going into the tube. I kept to the method I used last time with 2 exceptions. I went back to using a silicone mat to line my pyrex pan. This time I used a warm water double boiler during the butane boil off. The boil off was quicker and more uniform so the double boiler appears to have merit. After the butane had drained, I closed the valves. I noticed a bit of ice in the material. After the liquid butane was gone I was able to pour off the water droplets. I put the mat in the vacuum chamber and the material behaved like I saw in the videos this time.

It took a couple of hours before a got round to bringing to tube in to clean it. I did not open either of the valves before taking off the clamp - bigggggggggg mistake. As soon as the clamp released, a sound like a pistol shot, the endcap/valve, gasket, and a shotgun blast of weed hits me in the chest. From the next room I hear, "What was that?" A few seconds later, "Are you alright?" Then the misses peeks round the corner and stares at me till she realizes that I'm ok. Then she burst out laughing. The kitchen and everything in it are covered in weed. It was even inside some of the drawers and cabinets. We spent the next 2-1/2 hours cleaning up the mess.

Now I'm not sure if I relieved all the pressure the first time or if pressure built up during the 2 hours the tube was sitting outside with the valves closed. Either way - note to self - open the valve before removing the end clamp dumbass! Not sure how much pressure it was but I'm sure it was less than 5psi. Sure glad it wasn't more!​
