Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

Pretty much the same... Usually around 100g to start, sometimes I combine 2 bags later on if drying too fast...
I also set my bags on 2 strips of 3/4" pvc so I get airflow underneath too...
Before I started using the plastic grids to line the bottom of the bag my buds would dry out too fast...
So far I'm running about 5 1/2 days in the bag with humidity around 50 the last few days...
Already smokable but will get each day...

Untreated small boxes maybe.... tape them shut... the moisture needs soak away....
About the RH, does it have to be around 40%? I'm wondering if i can get it that low inside a closet or something like that. I would like to use the grow tent to a new grow, so i'll have a hard time controling RH in the bag. If it would be around 55% i could use a humidity pack. Thanks

if you look in any of my threads I dry absolutely everything in brown paper bags just cover the bottom slightly and after about 3 days I give the bag a jiggle and inspect and depending on how fast they are drying I may combine 2 of them then I sometimes have 10 bags at a time I wet trim and put the medium size colas in but I've even dried big tops just in 1 peace in the bag just experiment

Ive been wondering if i could get away with a top in the winters low humidity. I usually cut down to golf ball, or a single node depending on density.

Can I put Integra humidity control packs in to the paper bags?
I know that this can be done with Boveda packs but I'm unsure about the Integras that the local grow shop carries.

I don't see that they would really help much if at all...
The humidity in my bags never reach that higher than a couple % more than the outside air and usually the same...
The paper bags transfer the water vapor as fast as it builds up...
Also the packs have limited absorbing capacity unless they have been used for awhile...

Cool, thanks so much for the feedback, KC.

I wouldnt add it to the bag as i have only seen that dry the pack out quickly. I left a 62 in a bag early on to try this. The pack survived but had started to dry a bit by the end of the week.
When i wait till theyre jarred a pack will last me well over a year. I have some from 3 years ago still in rotation and many packs give out from wear and tear from the jostling in the jars after a year before the pack hardens.

this is a great thread, i am not sure that i ever commented on how i have adapted my drying style...
kuddos to all sharing their experience with this!

i started using the bag method some months ago and like it better vs hanging. when hanging my buds would be dry in 4 days and i felt like i wanted it to take longer. i started using the paperbag method (after wet trimming) and it worked well, but sometimes it still dries to fast (i leave it outside the tent). i started popping the paperbag in a plastic ziplock bag that i can open and close as needed so that i can have the humidity creep up a little. I always keep a hygrometer* in there to monitor whats up.

Ive also found in the winter when its dry, the bags will dry faster. But increasing the amount of flower in the bag also slows the dry time. I stir/shake my bags 2x a day out of habit anyway, so i dont have to worry about the crispy outside and wet inside. where did you get a plastic ziplock bag big enough to fit a paper bag?
