Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

I have 3 bags all inside a box, only 2 sit perfectly flat. The other is resting lightly on top.....
1. Is that ok or will i have mold?
2. Do i close the box?
3. Do i shakem daily or open the bags or anything special? Or do i leave it the hell alone in my cirner for a week?
Thanks in advance!!

Think on it:
Does knowledge have intrinsic value or does it need to have a practical use to have value?

They will be fine. I shake them daily and use my hand to redistribute them evenly on the floor of the bag. If they are really wet, leave the bag open for 30 minutes or so once a day but yes, move them around at least daily. I have dried my last two harvests in bags and it is now my preferred method.

Also reuse the bags so the residue transfers to your next buds. As a grocery store in the UK says "every little helps!"

Sent from my comfy chair.

Its official. Im a brown paper bagger. [emoji23] 100%. Love the way it dries and the way it cures after in jars. Burp for a few days and then 2 x a week for 1 week and then boveda and 1 x a week. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Got some questions about this method. I'm gonna be using it as a transition between drying & curing for a few days.

- Should the bag be left in the dark? (I don't have a tent...just a closet).
- Should there be a direct wind blowing on the bag, like from a fan?
- Do you leave the bag top curled down most of the time? Or open?
- What about room temperature? Should it be in the same range (mid-60s) as when buds are dried in other ways?

Sorry if these questions are rudimentary or have been answered already. This is a long thread & I'm harvesting next week, lol.

Personally:
Mine is left in the room where my tent is. Not super dark, but not under a light either. Like 20% light. But ive also had the bags just chillin. in my bedroom.

I dont necessesarily point a fan AT the bags, just kinda in the room moving air.

Bag top curled down except when im checking them or shaking it. I personally do it daily. Some say dont touch at all. Some say touch every few days. I check daily because i get VERY different drying times.

Sometimes it dries enough to jar in 3 days, some take 8 or 9... Then i burp daily a few days until i throw a boveda pack in after 3 or 4 days.

I just have them at my general room temp (68f-72f)

Good luck. Oh and I personally like the medium size lunch bag style bags. Theyre hella cheap and thinnish as far as paper bags go.

Grassy-ass, @Hypathetical Gardener! Appreciate it mucho. My yield will be small but I'm pretty stoked to get her harvested. Every harvest is a godsend since my living conditions are so...not ideal. lol. Living with weed Nazis means my plants could get yanked at any time. Very little privacy here.

This method will probably be less smelly than just hanging the whole plant in the closet, so that's a plus. Thanks again!

I think I will use this method thanks!

How much does the paper bag and box take the smell away would you smell it outside the house on danker smelling strains while in the box and bag with no carbon filter by it?

Could I put the box in my tent with the bag inside to block the light from having another plant with light on in tent? Thanks!

The paper bag still smells within the house for a few oz yield. I cant speak for large yields as i harvest 1 plant at a time normally.
Ive thought about that theory, just cover it with the box for light and be done. But i have soda/pop crates as a floor in my tent for air flow.
I dont personally put mine in a box. Just in the grow room outside the tent with a fan. Its not pitch black, but no direct light either.
