Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

The paper bag still smells within the house for a few oz yield. I cant speak for large yields as i harvest 1 plant at a time normally.
Ive thought about that theory, just cover it with the box for light and be done. But i have soda/pop crates as a floor in my tent for air flow.
I dont personally put mine in a box. Just in the grow room outside the tent with a fan. Its not pitch black, but no direct light either.

Thanks for the reply! Do you think it will be fine drying with the bag inside the box in the tent with light on? I have a really stinky strain (Sour Livers) and I can't risk the smell getting outside even though I'm legal I don't need neighbors talking. I have a carbon filter in the tent.

It should work fine. The box and bag combo should keep the light out and not getting caught is more important than perfect dry/cure temps.

I personally aim for 60ish degrees and 60ish rh in the drying area. Im not neurotic or perfect with it... Its basically just a cooler room ambient air.

Thanks for all the help! I found another method on a forum and added some things going to try that first or will do in tent in box and bag if doesn't work.

I am going to take a cardboard box and install either an intake fan (80mm pc fan) on one end or a mesh intake vent and exaust the smell on the other end into the tent with another pc fan and duct into the tent. The box will sit outside of the tent and exaust into the tent where it will then be scrubbed by carbon filter. I attached a pic for anyone who might come across such an issue.

Yea im a bit of a cheap-skate... I use store bags if your in the UK.... Primark have the best ones....

Seconded, on all levels :)

I use the BB method as well, for the whole plant before turning into hash. Chop it into small chunks & seal, open once a day to shake about. & get some new air in. Due to this method, I'm able to dry & grow in the same tent - at the same time! This was always one of my main issues since being self sufficient.

For anyone who cant find good big bags for this drying process, look for food waste compost bags at your local hardware store.. it's basically a mini brown leaf bag. Heres a pic of what I use.. I put some fiskars on the bag so you get a idea of size.. I believe the dimensions are something like 12x8 and 2ft high

I've never been happy with how my buds smelled after hang drying in a large tote I constructed for that purpose. Occasionally, I'd find my buds still a little moist after jarring, so I'd put them in paper bags to finish....and did notice more fragrance. Reading this thread, I've gathered bags and a box to dry my newest harvest (sweet seeds gorilla girl) by paper bag method only and hope to retain more of the fragrance and flavor I really love.

Trying all different methods for this grow. First sour crack in paper bag, next SC in box and current blue toof special in paper bag. Last girls will get hung in room to dry. All wet trimmed...

Results so far:
*Bag seems to hold in more humidity and extends dry time, a little. (Very scientific eh?!)
*box zapped moisture too quick..it seems that way to me.
