Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

Is there any info on how the growers in Holland dry their pot?
The weed in the coffeeshops is always well prepared and smells great.
I wonder if they cure the weed or just dry it, and I would like to know how they go about it.
I pretty much screwed up my first grow with crappy drying and it was harsh and lost its smell.

The dutch grows that I have seen have temp, air humidity, everything controlled rooms just made for hanging for x amount of time then some place them in brown paper bags and put them away for 2 -3 months in a dark place then jar, others just jar and burb but always for for months. This way everything is broken down, kept fresh and just the taste of pure bud is left.

I'm going to be facing a situation where my grow will either be done by a certain date or I'll have to call it early because I'm going to Hawaii with the wife and have no one to tend to the plants. Is the paper bag method a good option for holding for 12 days? In other words, what's the least damaging way to store freshly chopped buds for 12 days, by themselves, until I can return and tend to them properly? Should I over-fill a paper bag method so it will go slower? Or will that potentially generate the potential for mold?

Not only mold, they start to rot if too humid. And they will if closed. there is no way, that you close them somehow, 100 g dry buds have to get rid of 300 g water in 3 or more days to get dry at first, depending on humidity around. Your succes depends very much on humidity around. And temps, if colder, all processes go slower. If RH is high enough to let them outside, and not too hot, you will maybe be succesfull.

One solution is maybe Boveda 65, but you would need a lot of expencive bags. I do not know if you can dry with Boveda but in fact, why not. Only it is costly.

Second solution is refrigerator, deep freezer with humidity exchange. But most probably you do not have the right one at home. Forget about it without humidity exchange.

So, what RH and temps do you expect, that will be very important to choose method?

Be carefull, 12 days is definitely enough to destroy your stuff beyond repair.

High!

After reading Gonzo :tiphat:, exactly it make me think that I use to water-cure for stealth (7 days) but sometimes when I have bud rot, I H02 them bath and then the drying is very quick like a day or 2 for you maybe more but it makes it an even drying then as usual. It is far better than fan drying for "quick dry" etc...
Am not spot on yet but I even bath with lemon juice and baking soda to clean and smooth taste.
I sounds look conter-prod but works treat.

Hope it help,

Peace!

It may just be the case that I have to build in enough time to get them to jar before leaving.

I live around 7000ft. in the Mountains of Southwest Colorado so humidity is next to nothing unless there's precipitation (which will be over by July)
The temps could be hot or mild, I'd say Low 65º- High 90º fahrenheit/18-32 celsius

EDIT: After research, looks like average RH in my region in July is around 36-38%

How about turning them into hash? I would´t fancy leaving freshly harvested buds alone for 12 days - seems like a lot could go wrong and ruin your hard work. Pick up a set of bubble bags and run the buds through them - granted you won´t get to smoke flowers, but at least you will get to smoke something!
