Harvest & Curing Drying in a brown bag

Well, I may not be able to find someone to tend to my grow, but maybe I can enlist a friend, in the town I have to go through to get to the airport, to oversee a proper cure...He knows what he's doing, I wouldn't be worried about leaving them in his hands.

250 large brown paper bags... I think i should be ok for a few grows...for life if i reuse them.

Guys, just a advice by bad experience, just let the buds dry enough in the bag, i unfortunately thought that 7 days was enough and placed the buds with too much moisture in the jar and i have to throw my first harvest away, due mold (not webs or whatever, just a litlr white points in the tips of the buds and a slight ammonia smell , anyway theres is no way iam gonna smoke it. So guys be sure that the stem almost snap! mine was too bendy, and didnt matter how often i open the jars "My 2 cents"

PEACE

Question for the pros....I'm drying in brown paper bags, i sealed the opening with tape. Is it safe to just leave them sealed for about 3 days before checking them or should I open them once a day or a couple times a day?

I would burp them at least 2 times a day.

Seem to be Major confusion running all the way through this thread!!!..

Been drying in Brown Paper bags for more years than i care to remember!!!!. I have NEVER lost a bud to rot in bags i have dried WHOLE plants in bags before, forearm size colas and no sign of bud rot.
Idea behind its is NO air exchange as it SLOWS the drying process, yeah sure if your not a believer then check your bud Occasionally but not every day and defiantly Not twice and day. BURPING is for jars IMHO.

Only reason to brake bud down is to help dry a little quicker. All i do is manicure bud and into brown bags and hang them normally dry in 5 days. I dont open them for at least that period of time, just on occasion shake the bag.

Job Done

Like you Hazchem I have dried in brown paper bags, not for years mind you but for as long as I can remember ( which is not very long ) as a matter of fact I use the one's sold by Home Depot. The kind for tossing yard refuse to the curb in the spring and fall . Works for me . :tiphat:
