Mephisto Genetics Double Grape & Autocobs, Hooray!

Hey all. Sorry for skipping a few updates. Lost a very, very good friend of mine and I've been away from everything trying to deal with the fallout.

As far as thing 3: She's on Day 65. Not much new to report, she looks pretty much like she did last time I posted pics. Buds swelled a bit more though. Water only from here til day 70, then chop. I'll do my best to post pics and wet weight, etc.

Take it easy y'all. Should be back to normal with a new journal soon.

Hey friends, sorry for leaving things hanging. Let's wrap this up, huh?

As mentioned in my last post, Thing 3 came down on Day 70. Trimming went pretty quick - the buds were super, super airy, and I haven't dealt with a Sativa-dominant plant before so I ended up with a really nice pile of trim, and a small pile of bud.

As y'all have seen, I had some serious issues with P this grow and I'm sure it affected my final yield. Between both plants I came out with a little over a half ounce, which was definitely not what I was hoping for, but at the same time...shit is *strong*. So honestly, I'm alright with the low yield. Especially knowing that if I do my job better, the results can only get better - there ain't nothing lacking with these genetics. :smoking:

Anyway, have a few pics to close things out. I didn't weigh out the trim, but I have most of a quart jar full of sugar leaf and popcorn, well dried and sitting in my freezer awaiting some nice cold ISO for my first try at hash-making either today or tomorrow.

A shot of her just before chop. Sorry for the shitty lighting, the room grow in has the *worst* lighting for taking pics. See how hard she got hit with that deficiency? That was my lesson to stop waiting so long to diagnose/treat an issue when you're growing in hydro. :wall:

Some frosty ass Buds, Papa! Bet her prime trim smoke out about as well as her Buds, my Crinkle did. I know she hasn't had time to cure yet, but what do you think of the effects so far?

Yes indeed! My camera phone and lack of photography skills don't do them justice. Hands down the frostiest buds I've grown so far. The first plant has been curing since 10/19 and is very nice. I'm not the best with scents and such but when I open the jar I get an initial hit of coffee followed by a fruity/gassy sort of combo. Smells awesome when it's fresh ground. Funky, but not obnoxious. Smoke is really nice - kinda thick, and you do get a bit of grapeyness on the exhale every now and again. Like grape candy, almost. Really nice effect - up but not giggly, then you get nice and mellow for a good while. Strong, but I never got any couch-lock. You might be inclined to just sit around and watch Netflix but I was definitely able to get out and get shit done when I needed to. It'll give you serious cotton mouth and the munchies though, lol. Haven't tried the second batch - it's been in the jar since 11/5.

Lol Thanks for the early smoke report, sounds nice. I like to hear different opinions on strains, especially ones I'm chompin on the bit to grow out. Are you gonna post your new journal on here for us to find?

No worries. So far I haven't let anything cure for too long before I start in on it - I'll pretty much let it stabilize and then start taking a few samples a week or two later. And yeah, I'll definitely start a new journal here. The current plan is to run four AvT in coco my 2.5x2.5. It'll be my first coco run, so I'm both looking forward to and a little freaked out by the journey into a new growing method.

AvT's sound great, but do you think 4 in your 2.5x2.5 will fit? From what I've seen AvT's can get pretty big, what size pots? Sounds great, I can't wait to grow one out. It's gonna be way down the road for me though.

No idea! Though looking at Mephisto's Strain Guide I see they actually run 6 per 4x4 tent in 5 gallon pots, so it looks like I'd be better off running 3. It'll still be tight but I ended up with two dozen AvT as freebies so I can afford to screw around a little bit. I'll be using 2 gallon fabric pots.
