Lighting DIY mars conversion. Questions and answers here.

Sure. It's not about me making 30 bucks a light it's about getting cobs into people's tents and grow rooms. This market is terrible, people all over choosing the cheapest light possible, based a buddy or journal where they pulled 1/4 oz from a mars hydro but swears it's the best light on the market.

I will delete this later

4 cobs would be the minimum for a 3x3. 6 would be ideal. To go with 4 I'd pick up a hlg-185h-48a from cob kits. 4 1812's which come with holders and 4 120mm heatsinks from northern growlights.

Thermal paste, screws, 18g wire, power cord, ratchet hangers, eyebolts for mounting the light. and a bunch of angle aluminum.

I appreciate your honesty and figure I'll opt to do a 3x3cob structure to power my 4x4 tent. I know I'm asking for a lot but what more would I need to switch to this fixture. I know more cobs and heat sinks than u listed. Would I need 3 meanwells or 2? I want to order everything and start my build next weekend as my plants currently in the tent have2-3 weeks left. I want to start my next batch under this light. Thanks for all the help big.

I have been waiting for a driver from cobkits for over 3 weeks and it is in stock. I'm not to happy about it but he has been very busy and had bad wether. Northerngrowlights is sold out of heatsinks and only has 5000k cobs. This really puts a damper on things for everyone.

For 50w per cob I'd get 3 hlg-120h-48. One driver per bar.

Thanks so much I'll be back with some questions once I source some of the items do you recommend buying anything on eBay or do you notice lower quality products from there

Possibly, I have heard an aweful lot about meanwell drivers being faked. I know for a fact the guys selling the drivers I use on alibaba are fakes.

I haven't tried it yet but 2 50v citizens should fit per driver. Being around 48v per cob at that amperage. 30 watts per cob, 2 cobs per driver so 4 cobs in total.

60 par watts vs the 25 par watts you would get and a much better spectrum.

ok, so you are saying, 2 50v citizens, that the will push 48v each driver, at 30w a cob?
