Hi guys I have a mars2 1200 I'm trying to convert and i'm having a hard time figuring out what to buy. From what I've read here they have 100w drivers, what would be the most efficient way to use them? Thank you for your time
Its risky buying parts without opening the light up. I have done a ton of conversions still don't feel comfortable giving advice. Citizen cobs are very efficient and cost effective. Depending on your budget cobs range from 12 dollars up to 45 dollars each. Typically 2 cobs per driver. Get some more info and I'll be happy to assist.Hi guys I have a mars2 1200 I'm trying to convert and i'm having a hard time figuring out what to buy. I'll be here when your ready. Few screws up top and you should be able to get a peak. A picture would be best of you can manage. Thanks for responding I can't open it up for few days I have some plants that are about done. I will report back once I have more info.
Thanks for the reply and the autocobs don't sound bad at all but would I be able to make a frame that holds 9 of them...or they only come in sets of 4.do you have a link for your autocobs to check the options and pricing. You could do 2 cobs per mars 300.
50v citizen cobs would give you 30 watts per cob.
Or you could go with Cree 72v which would put you at 40 per cob
You could do a full frame and ditch the mars too. Little more money but easier and better. Considering the cheap drivers in the mars hydro.
4 auto cobs would be the easiest. Fully adjustable and very efficient. Out of the box ready to hang and grow. Meanwell drivers, citizen cobs in a complete package.
Just started these under 2 cobs and last night added a third, next week I'll add a fourth.
That's as unbiased as you will get from me since I make and sell the autocobs now.
How much do you think it would cost to make a structure fit for a 3x3 ilike the autocob but want to construct something custom and unique. Hope I can still gain some of your wisdom...Efficientgrowlights.com
That's the beauty you don't need a frame. They are completely flexible since they are complete. Adjusting them individually and being able to add or remove with ease. In a 3x3 I'd use 4 total. I have 6 in a 5x5 doing amazing. They are equal to roughly a 150w hps each. View attachment 684399View attachment 684400
