Only if you want to really flood the market at a time when less is being used. You have to ask yourself why. I think it's to kill oil competition. But that could piss off a lot of countries. Russia, Iran, shit, anyone in their backyard even. The Saudis might be thinking that the USA will fend off any aggressors. Even if they don't, in the mean time, million could die in a skirmish while oil fields are bombed. Once it's over, the Saudis get the market to themselves for a while. And don't think the Suadis wouldn't kill a million people just for a little profit.Yup, saudi arabia started ramping up production shortly after the first confirmed cases in china. Is there a need for more oil during a pandemic?
Humor at this point is good, really good. Especially when combined with rational behaviour to reduce risk. Keeping busy with something other than watching the news is also really good. Like tending to one's beautiful plants.
I highly recommend the TV series "Disjointed" starring Kathy Bates - it's on Netflix. My wife at times wonders what the heck I am watching because I am laughing so often.
Hey, relative to keeping busy, how about a "self isolation grow contest". Hell, if my dearest and I decide to stay isolated, I might even participate.
Whatever, stay safe peeps!
The fiasco, and that is not my word, it was used by an epidemiological expert during testimony to the US congress committee working on this, is that, whatever the underlying cause, the US has blown a couple weeks of testing, letting this virus expand with negligible monitoring, and potentially letting it get out of control. Time will tell, but it is quite possible that this will result in the pandemic being far worse in the US than it would have been if testing had been done early. So I see fake news isn't just a thing in the US...
Our tests at the very start of this were not flawed, they were accurate but they were slow as they could only be processed by the CDC thanks to red tape... A problem now eliminated.
They only tests that were refused for purchase consideration had a 48% false positive rate... which is why many countries were forced to test the same person over and over and over... thereby wasting valuable time, space, personnel, and also contributing to the panic.
But at that same time the US was buying more accurate tests from around the world to make up for any shortfall that may occur before our new automated test could be rolled out.... and that shortfall never even happened as they fast tracked the automated test.
The big one that started the whole fake story here in the US about not buying tests was an experimental test that was not even officially submitted for purchase consideration, but the company that had those dropped that story to one of our fake news outlets just to get their name out there and it spread.
I wonder if that may have led to similar stories elsewhere ?
