I have 2 autos planted in my vegetable garden. Both are loving life but I just started seeing these lines. I did spot some little black bugs on my tomato plants that are in front of them. Any ideas what I’m dealing with?

I think it’s leaf miner. That black dot at the end of the line could be the culprit. Squeeze it with your nail. Bad infestation can be a setback or fatal.

Sounds like I may be in misery with those buggers...they are on both of my plants. Good to meet a fellow grower from MO! Thanks for the info

If you can spare the leaves pull them off and crush em. If not googLe treatments . Think you may be able to treat with white oil.

Leaf Miner I believe is correct. This is an outdoor grow? Organic balance thinking says just let it go. Sooner or later the beneficial predator will find them and nature's balance will return. :yoinks: :finger: that this is weed! If the infestation remains low <10% the plant will still produce normaly. I would add some silica, B1, humic acid and kelp to your nutrient regime. This will give the plants immune system a boost. Remove infected leaves and destroy in fire wrapped in paper :haha:. Don't let them little buggers hatch. If it looks like the infestation will go beyond 10% use neem as the "organic" insecticide that has approval here CA. :goodluck:

Thanks Man! This is an awesome community!!:thanks:

I have always done companion planting outdoors. That is just planting different plants that do something beneficial for the other plants. I found this about attracting leaf miners away from other crop plants:

"Plant trap crops like lamb's quarters, columbine and velvetleaf if you have dealt with leafminers in past growing seasons. They serve as a more inviting alternative for the leafminers and direct them away from the crops being protected. "

:doh:Then I thought what if cannabis is more attractive than those and they just become the welcome mat to your plants . I am sure some old hippie knows which plants are good companions. I cannot grow outdoors. Indoors 6 plants. It is all good.
