Sweet Seeds Bob's Sweet Seeds Grow - Chapter One: Bruce Banner Auto © & Sweet Amnesia Haze XL Auto ©

Hey guys,

Small update on the Bruce Banner front. After four days of drying it was more then ready to be jarred. The buds felt dry to the touch and the leaves where crumbling. So very carefully I removed the branches from the wire and put them in a bucket. After trimming all the chunky buds what was left was 44gr of some good weed, but I mean really really good weed. It has a nice coffee smell to it, but mainly it's floral. I do hope I can humidify the buds as they where actually really dry. After 10 minutes in the closed jar it was at 44% humidity, which is way to low I know...Yesterday evening the leaves where still pliable and today it was to much...

69gr of small buds and trimmings which are coated with so many trichomes... Perfect for extraction with the press or bubblebags. :coffee:

I put the buds in a jar and placed my DIY humidity controller inside. This will slowly raise the humidity to 62% and keep it there.
I'll probably share another picture later this evening to show the humidity after a couple of hours stabilizing.

Yummy looking buds!

Where about 6 hours later and humidity is at 55% now. The buds feel less brittle now which is a good thing
First smell when I opened the jar was that grassy smell, but that should go away with curing...

Day 88:

Hey gromies :smokeout:

A lot has happend today and I'm as high as a Flemish parrot on Bruce Banner. So please bare with me :dizzy:
It all started this morning... Went to the greenhouse to water the plants. First had to pH the nutrients in both tanks before I could water. But that's something I always check since you know what and when
Then made some pictures for prosperity and left.

Later that day I received something I ordered to aid me in watering the plants. I tried to automate it a while ago, but failed. This time I'm going to try again and I hope I learned from previous mistakes made. So ok, I saw someone here use plastic caps on top of their rockwool cubes to distribute the nutrient solution and during surfing, a couple of days ago, was confronted with advertisement for the Floraflex round matrix plates I knew this would be super to help me distribute the solution through the entire pot. Like a man, I neglected to measure my pots and thought 15,5"-18" / 40-46cm diameter isn't that big :wall:
So when it arrived the box was big. Luckily the plates fitted perfect inside my 20 gallon fabric pots, but when I transplanted the seedlings in there I didn't account for that, but I'll use them next season. To be continued...

After work I was thinking how the trichomes where fairing on the Amnesia Haze so again to the greenhouse Robin :oops1:

And this evening my alarm went off because otherwise I forget... I needed to reapply the rot block which @Phyter sent to me. It was a while ago and when the plants are growing fast you need to apply it weekly Phyter said. So, I was due a good soaking. I didn't soak the Amnesia Haze as this is almost ready and I didn't want the residue in my buds, but rather gave it a fair dusting. This time as a surfactant I used six drops of bio-soap which significantly reduced drop formation.

Looking great. Do you hook the flora flex stuff up to an aquarium pump in a reservoir? I've only briefly perused it before.

EDIT: spelling - persued/perused

That will be the plan yes. Got a couple of pumps lying around and a whole length of tubing to connect everything.
I will also be automating it by connecting everything up to a sonoff or other arduino/wifi controlled device. But for this season I'll be continuing giving water by hand as all my plants are planted out of center...

Day 91:

It's a nice and sunny day today. Spent the morning in the greenhouse watering all the plants. Doors open and enjoy the heat with a light breeze...
The Amnesia Haze isn't turning amber anytime soon. It is still making new trichomes which start out clear... So what I can find are trichomes which are nice and milky and clear ones, but apart from the one or two amber trichomes everything is still virgin

Yesterday evening I made a new batch of nutrient solution based on the two-part MC Bloom phase recipe. pH 5.75 EC 500 ppm. This morning I adjusted the pH back to 5.70 after a night of aerating the solution and gave her 5L of it.

Hey Guys,

I decided I wanted some detailed trichome shots...

Day 94:

Harvest day for the Sweet Amnesia Haze XL Auto. In one of the top cola's I found some budrot. Had to remove a piece the size of my fist.
To prevent this from happening to the other buds I decided to harvest everything while I was at it.

20210617_103035_small.jpg

These are the pick of the crop. The most dense buds of them all... I removed any leaves that didn't have trichomes on it.
20210617_103044_small.jpg

On the right...still nice buds, but one needs to choose what to keep for smoking and what to process into hash or rosin :wiz:

With this post my Bruce Banner Auto & Sweet Amnesia Haze XL Auto grow is nearing it's end. :joy:
Now it's just waiting for the drying to finish followed by a cure. After drying I'll post the dry weight of this lady and of course when the cure of both Bruce Banner and the Amnesia is done a complete smoke report will follow.
Speaking of... Bruce Banner had been curing for one week now and sit's in it's jar without any help from the humidity controller. I open it once a day, ahum to air out and to take a bit to...ahum...test :jointman:
Man, it is good I can tell you that. The perfect daytime Sativa! I'm still pondering about a tast/smell I can't bring home... Let me try to explain. It smells like when my wife makes granola. Some of the ingredients she roasts in the oven. When I'm smoking a joint this smell/taste comes to me. Am I making sense? :chef:

Hey guys,

Bob here with an update...I decided to take the buds out of the drying shed as they felt as the Bruce Banner buds the day before I harvested them to late.
With a nice cup of coffee and a Jimmy Carr show I began the tedious task of trimming up these nice buds.
20210618_220954_small.jpg

These are all the primo buds. Nothing fluffy in this plate I guarantee that :shooty:

Sticky goodness
20210618_232650_small.jpg

This is what was left behind...All the trimmings and smaller stuff.
I could have gone on and trim some more, but my jar was full...
20210618_232929_small.jpg

So all those nice buds went into a bag into the freezer for processing at a later date.
20210618_232939_small.jpg

In the end the job of trimming one plant actually went well and was over after also watching a Josh Wolf show. I am left with a nice jar full of bud, which I have spread out on a plate because after jarring the humidity went up to 71% and that's to wet to be in a closed container. I'll rejar in a couple of hours and check the humidity again...

Btw, while cleaning up I got a nice piece of scissor hash and rolled me a nice one. It didn't have a hashie taste to it, but I'm nice and high so no complaining here :jointman:
I wish to thank to people of Sweet Seeds for enginering these genetics. I'm very happy with the results I've got, even after all the mishaps that occurred. Also just bought Bruce Banner and got Sweet Amnesia Haze as a freebee seed. And look what this freebee has delivered...

As you might have noticed I'm quite happy and high so the only thing that remains is to wish you all a fine weekend!!

Bob :toke:
