New Grower BillyWu's first grow - Think Different autoflowering

Yes, water your pots before-hand. But make sure they aren't too wet when you put your germed seeds in. You want it warm and moist not wet.

Sounds good, temp is perfect. I'd suggest soaking your seed first in some water till it cracks, then planting in the soil, 1/2" deep.

Already on it :] Left the seed overnight in water so it sank, now it's sitting in between two damp pieces of kitchen towel with a bowl over the top. When it cracks, it's off to the pot :]

Waiting for the seed to crack still, should be done tomorrow I hope.

Quick question: Is it best to go with 20/4 lighting or 24/0 lighting for the plant from seedling?

Update: Shell is starting to crack on the seed :] I've put it in the grow room with the light on, with the paper towels still over it so it's not too bright. Is this a good idea or should I put them near the window instead?

i would go with 20/4 from the start, if it isnt too hot under the lights then its probably fine there. all they need is warmth and damp at this stage.

I have been debating this myself. I am thinking about starting mine on 24 hours for the first couple weeks, not sure yet. I can't decide. It makes sense that the plant needs darkness/rest, but I have seen good results from going 24 for 2-3 weeks.

yeh i dont think itll matter near the start so much but i doubt itll add much for such small seedlings and such a small time. either aslong as its only short i would say.

Here's the seedling now :] Tap root has just cracked the casing. Gonna let it grow out just a little more before I plant it.

Vegetative growth is the time when 24 hours is most beneficial, babies can suffer from light toxicity with no dark period especially from HID. I plant as soon as they crack with tweezers. I am going 17/17 for seed germination.
