Lighting Bigsm0 and the cob addiction

Anyone follow crypto? Took awhile to get into it but it’s surly some amazing stuff. Btc rose 240,000% since it’s launch. Insane!

I bought 205$ worth of Bitcoin for seeds.....had a bunch of stupid stuff happen with seedsman Seedbank so I didn't spend the money for over a month. When I finally went to spend it I actually had around 350$ in Bitcoin instead of 205$. Made money just from it sitting there lol. So I made an order of 280$ for seeds instead of 200. Definitely worth getting into even if only for a little bit.

Yes these work perfectly in all countries with the self adjusting drivers. I also got in a few dozen UK and European power cords too.

This plant had a 6500k over it the entire grow with 3500k side lighting. They say blue is a waste in flower but I disagree. This grow I had the least wattage I have ever run and I pulled the FROSTIEST buds I have seen in my life. No question. Every bud on every plant too. View attachment 852968

Wow thats one frosty bud! I aim to extract most of my plants into rosin or hash for myself so the frostier the better! So Im more than likely going to pull the trigger on one 3500k or 4000k unit first and then a 6500k in a month or so when I can afford to and add it on. However, for another cabinet I have, I am debating between your 4-light deal setup or, for example, this: https://www.todogrowled.com/gb/led-grow-lights/8-led-grow-light-tgl-220.html.

Now I am someone who has not so much understanding on the difference in actual COBs and the more technical side of things, so if you could explain the differences between the two lights and the pros and cons to each unit that would be amazing. I'm not asking you to justify yours or fight a corner or anything. I'm just genuinely interested at the differences between the units and you are extremely knowledgable, and before I spend I would like to know a bit more about the units! My other area is 120 x 60cm. Many thanks!

Will 4 3500k and one 6500k be too much light in 3x3x6?

Are you growing autos or photos? I have 4 3500k autocobs in a 2x4x6. I plan on getting 2-4 more autocobs eventually.

Originally @BigSm0 said that I didn't need that much light in a small area because he thought I was growing autos but once he found out I was growing photoperiods he said they would enjoy it, which they definitely have.

I’m growing autos brotha

How many autos were you planning on doing? I've seen many people with autos running 1 autocob per plant. So maybe 2-3 cobs would be max for your area? Maybe 4.

I'm not the specialist but if he was saying that 4 autocobs were overkill for autos in my 2x4x6 tent then I'm thinking he will say the same for you.

I’m doing 4 in the tent now and it’s just overkill so I’m probably gonna do 2.

However I really want to try the 6500 out and I’m trying how to lay it out

I really think supplemental blue really helps the frost. 3500k and 4000k would definitely do it. I have noticed this time and time again that to much light leads to more burnt and frostless plants. When I ran my 450 watt lights over the 4x4 space I did have some big plants but quality wasn’t anywhere near as good.

As for the cobs themselves I choose citizen because they work the best. My personal experience. I do talk about efficiency all the time and even though it’s very important it’s not the only important factor. Different manufacturers have different spectrums. It must be the citizen spectrum because my plants are much healthier And frostier. Some may have different experiences. The AutoCobs do come with UK cords now too.

I think this is the upper limit for sure. A lot depends on the strain too. I have grown in 3x3’s with 5 cobs without problems but I do try to keep the plants shorter so I can have a more space between them.

Any ideas on how to set up the lights if I just ran 3 3500’s and one 6500? Or should i just shoot for the 4 3500’s and add the 6500 during the last 2.5 weeks of life?
