Lighting Bigsm0 and the cob addiction

A garage is ideal. No smell in the house and it really is much safer for a number of reasons. The downside is you do need to heat and cool it. You can’t really exhaust warm air as condensation forums quickly with the incoming air. Humidity is always much higher. I’m always reading grows where people are adding humidifiers and wet towels to increase RH. Meanwhile my RH would be 98% in an hour without a dehumidifier going 24/7.

When I was "studying" to get a grow tent prepared, I also kept reading about people needing humidifier ..i was like damn...more money. Then I remembered where I live..it hardly goes below 50 RH on any given day. lol

I think we only know about 5% of what actually goes on. Never believed they were real up until recently when I started watching them. Like you said a stream of “condensation” turning into massive clouds formations. Some of the stuff I see down here at the ocean front really makes you wonder, I keep seeing planes following these hard to see increasing black lines... whatever they are it stays right in front of the planes and disappears quickly. Like a dotted line almost. You can just see it in the picture.

yeah thats crazy huh. I don’t know much about plane exhaust maybe somebody could explain what it is but I can’t. I’m gonna have to start looking better when they leave these streaks.

High humidity is very expensive to fix. Last summer my dehumidifier was pouring out so much heat my ac couldn’t keep up. I Actually had a crazy idea which helped but wasn’t enough. I ran my regular window ac which ran steady and helped humidity but shut down my dehumidifier and ran a portable ac. I didn’t vent either hose outside but ran the drain outside. The reason I didn’t vent was the air exchange and all I wanted was to lower humidity. It worked as planned. Dehumidification without the heat as one side blew heat and the other blew cold. Now I run a mini-split and the dehumidifier runs much less.

Wait till you see some of the pics I snap. By the ocean there is miles of open sky and plenty of air graffiti lol.

my regulation of humidity is controlled by how far I open the door to the walk in closet and exhaust fan speed.so far no problems...thank God mine is easy.

I saw a recent internal email from SpectrumKingLED, and they are recommending what I consider very high humidity ~80%, with their LEDs. They have a temp/humidity chart I can share if anyone is interested. I was quite shocked when I waw it, but they are saying this is the sweet spot for high production under their LEDs.

I would never recommend humidity that high. Mold will set in instantly. As a perfect example of high humidity I called that recent tent grow the torture tent. The plants were growing but looked terrible and they were not drinking any water at all from the higher humidity.

I agree, along with the amount of air flow you would need to move that air around would be an additional stress to plants. asking for problems with that kind of humidity, with any plant in a confined area..unless you are replicating a rainforest

Playing around trying to cover the most area with 3 cobs. On the middle one I tied the end of the ratchet to the opposite wall.
