How close to the plants can you put a 3500K COB

I have found with cobs that the distance from light to plant canopy is a learn as you go situation. Each strain has been a little different in how close you can set cobs. Just pay attention to your leaves and that will tell you whether to raise or lower cobs.

How close to the plants can you put a 3500K COB during veg and flower. I have a very small room---3.5x3.5', and only 4' tall---currently running a 600W hps and occasionally add two crappy 150W LED panels. I was thinking of keeping the HPS, ditch the LED panels, and putting a COB in each corner.

10 inches for the pot, 25 - 30 inches for vertical growth and 25-30 inches of distance. If you can train your plants to grow under 600 watts of hps you can do the same with 4 cobs. With the singles you can always take one out if you notice to much light in the space. Even better do 3-3500k’s and a 4000k or 6500k and use one for veg or use it in flower as a nice resin booster.

Definitly. A lot depends on the space and how many lights are in the space as well. In a 2x2 tent with 4 cobs the distance will be much different than a 4x4 with 4 cobs.

I tell every new grower to take as many pictures as they can. If you watch the plants dialy it’s hard to see the growth. Pictures tell the true tale.

Autocob room needed a full size shot. It’s blowing up in here and the plants are doing amazing. Little phosphorus deficency that was quickly corrected. A few days this scrog will be filled! Can’t wait.

I’m also super excited to show what I’m doing in here. Doing a little bit of cob switching and hopefully going to maximize the new 3000k cobs.

Currently I have 4-3000’s and 1-6500 cob going


The middle plants are going to get much bigger than the 4 outside plants. So what I plan on doing is a 3500k citizen 4 cob bar in the middle. The 4 outer plants being shorter will all get their own Autocob. Fully adjustable 5x5 with 2 different sized plants.

My daughters needed some well deserved time away as did I. We just got back home and I was very pleased with the growth over the weekend.

I lowered the wattage again. I’m now down to 400 watts over a 4x10 space.
