Well if you have Bud Rot youll have to deal with that appropriately. a few ways to deal with those. if its fresh and small patches you can most likely cut it out and use it from there,IF your fully healthy and the like. no immune issues or similar. but you can also take the pieces of bud and soak them after cutting them out on an H2O2 solution. but ultimately if you wanna use it cut the pieces out and toss them then decarb fully and use the effected parts first. but thats me. and I have an Immune issue too.

but the issues you had in growing can cause(especially if its been going through most of flower too) slow ripening. slow development and the like.so overall it doesnt suprise me that its white and clear trichomes. to have your meds ripen up for you early ime I usually need to get a no issue grow. most times I grow I have meds ready to use in ,ohhhh, say, by day 50 most often. and by day 60-70 its ready. but sometimes if its had issues like your has,it can take much longer. if shes cloudy I woudl take her now and try another time imo. but you can also go longer IF you have cut out the rot completely and increase air flow. but its best to try another time is all. improve the soil and thall be your saving grace bro.

Thanks for your advice bro!

I tossed out all the affected bud right after removing it. Broke my heart to do it, as it smelled so ridiculously dank, but I wouldn't mess with moldy bud at all. Luckily it didn't hit the whole plant, and I have plenty of other nice ones(including another Sour Crack) getting ready, so I didn't sweat it too much.

What you're saying about the plant stalling due to whatever deficiency/overwatering issues I had in early/mid flowering makes sense. I do my best to nurture the soil, but perhaps I'm over loving it. I tend to always add a little something extra when watering like Great White, Recharge, Mammoth P, kelp extract or Big Bloom. But I do it in small quantities and only one or two of them at a time. I find myself watering these three gallon smart pots about every three days, as I don't wait until they are super dry. I try to keep them at a medium moisture level consistently. I occasionally get a bit of minor runoff though. Any other general tips for keeping a super soil like this healthy?

Sounds and looks like you're overdoing it, every three days and all those items is way too hot for the plant, especially when you consider you're running a super soil.

I recommend a flush and check of ppm run off, as looks to be too high, that's why she's burning through the leaves.

You'll get to harvest either way bro, but it'll be more productive not tox'd up, good luck to ya.

The Great White, Mammoth P and Recharge are basically just beneficial bacteria, myco and microorganisms though, right? I don't think they have any nutes in them. The kelp I used primarily during the beginning to feed the soil. I believe there's very little macronutrients in the kelp as well. I've only added Big Bloom two or three times throughout their life, but I think these have low levels of nutrients too.

From what I've read elsewhere, including the Kindsoil website, I think flushing a super soil may be a bad idea, as it can wash out a lot of the organic material that was amended to it and can also choke the life of the soil by super-saturating it and starving it of oxygen.

One thing I've noticed is that most of my plant's roots are growing right out of the bottom of their pots and have been since mid-flower. According to the Kindsoil website, this makes it sound like they've used up the nutrients in the Kindsoil. Does this sound legit to other super soil growers or is it normal to have your roots grow through the bottom of the pot so early?

Try growing in plain old coco and perlite.
Better results, stronger stems, less rot as there is less water retention.
Super soils are good, when tilled and kept healthy. Hard trick to master. Also when feeding you really dont know what the ratios of certain nutrients are existing in the soil mix. Easily over nute'd....
A good super soil needs nothing but water to put out good plants.... should have all nutes in there for the different stages of life.

In my opinion you can change pots to the selection of your choice but if you don't get the temps down and more airflow you'll still suffer the rot issues. I had my WC in air pots and 24kt in 4 gallon nursery pots.

I just experienced it myself on White Chem and 24kt. My temps never were below 88 and the humidity crept past 60 a few days during the heatwave days. I had my fan blowing directly on my plants to keeps gnats from laying eggs in soil and still suffered from it. It's been really hot in L.A. lately. I just think it's related to temps. 24kt was in FFOF only and the White Chems were in Tupur. Soil and coco both produced plants susceptible to rot. I think it's all about the airflow.

I never got rot before because I wasn't growing strains with this type of trich and resin production in such stout little plants. I also think my grow more nutrients made bigger flowers that I also wasn't accustom to, so there was more flower holding more moisture that should have been accounted for. Just my opinion that good airflow is needed and humidity needs to stay down. Yes air pots help but they won't prevent it. Good luck with your grow and sorry to hear about your rot issues. I just make butter out of mines (after a bud wash with peroxide) similar to what eyes on Fire said...I'm not afraid to eat a little mold, eating McDonalds and drinking soda is much much worse. Lol!

Thanks bro! Yeah, bud rot is a bitch. Unfortunately the moldy buds were a little too far gone for me to feel comfortable to use. Very brown, gray and webby.

The temps in my tent have actually been the best they've ever been. My thermometer tells me it's around 74F mid-canopy and 81F at the tallest point of the canopy right under my 400w HPS. Relative humidity fluctuates between 37-42%. I thought I read that bud rot(botrytis) sets in more readily at temps below 70F? I've been hit by bud rot every grow I've had, no matter the temps or RH. It seems to be largely unavoidable, particularly with stocky, fat, dense buds(which are what I love) like Indica-heavy plants.

I took down the rest of that Sour Crack and put it in a brown paper grocery bag and clipped it to the top of my tent. That makes it 78 days from germination to harvest. Going to have to be careful not to stress them too much going forward. I had hoped that this plant would be good to go by 65 or so. The buds look and smell marvelous though. I ended up with enough bud to fully line the bottom of one of those paper grocery bags. I'm guessing somewhere between 7-14 grams, but we'll see when it's dried and ready for the jar.

The Sour Hound is almost ready too and it looks amazing! Huge and lovely!

Hey dude sorry to hear about your bud rot. I think the best thing you can do is get your plants as open as possible. I like to try and get mine to get a bit of height on them, as I believe small dense plants are asking for trouble as far as bud rot goes. With a bit of height its much easier to train them open a bit and get lots of air flow all around the plant/buds.

Saying that, I did a sour crack and got some rot in the main cola! She was a pretty tall open plant as well, but still got some rot.

Sour crack does have those big fat indica buds like you said, so I guess its naturally more vulnerable.

Your sour crack 2 looks awesome mate! Reckon thats gonna be some lovely smoke :woohoo:
