Time for a much needed update here with this grow. A lot of progress in the past 19 days! For starters, I popped a couple new beans, a Dutch Passion Auto Night Queen and a FastBuds Blackberry. I'm running them in 3-gallon pots with KindSoil on the bottom and BioBizz LightMix on the top. I love the deep old school dank flavor of the Night Queen and last time I grew it, it got stunted in veg, but I let it go anyways just for kicks. Well, I only got probably 7 grams off of that runt, but it was some of the dankest tastiest shit I've ever smoked. This brings the girls in my 4x4 to six, two Sour Cracks, a Sour Hound, Sour Livers and these two new additions.
I think I've finally won the battle against the fungus gnats. I followed the advice on this thread(Thanks guys!) and got some mosquito dunks to sprinkle on the soil before watering and added some to my water and bubbled it for a few hours before watering. I am going to have to stay away from Roots Organic soil. It's a fine soil(if just a tad hot), but I've gotten fungus gnats every time I used it. I'll be sticking to my tried and true BioBizz Lightmix from now on. Aside from those shenanigans, this Kindsoil has made this a pretty low maintenance grow so far! I use tap water, so I let it sit out for at least a couple days before giving it to the plants. I've been adding a bit of organic seaweed extract to the water(which also helps drop my pH where I need it, more or less) and Great White and adjusting pH to 6.5 with Earth Crystals, but that's pretty much it. I'm going to make a big batch of my own supersoil in the next couple weeks and document it in a different thread.
As you can see, everyone is looking lush and hearty. The Sour Hound(on the top left) is the current star of the show. She has a lovely bushy structure(about 12 inches tall) with big strong side branches that should throw out some beautiful colas. I've done a couple rounds of defolation to make sure those branches get light(four big fan leaves from the top, each session) The older Sour Crack(top middle) is quite short and squat, only eight inches tall, and is throwing out flowers already. I'd been hoping for at least an ounce or two off of each Sour Crack, but it's hard to envision that, given how small they tend to stay. On the top right is the Night Queen, just doing her Indica thing. Bottom left is the BlackBerry, only about 5 or 6 days old. Bottom middle we have the Sour Livers. I am super psyched for this one! I love stinky weed and this one should deliver, from what I gather. And to the bottom right we have the youngest Sour Crack, about 10 days behind her sister.
