Dutch Passion Auto Ultimate in the; post...

I apologise for the age long gap in posts! I have had some security issues, namely visits by the OB as a mate has got himself in some mischief. I have had two very worrysome nights being interviewed in my dining room, and got a little worried about posting! But, as I am 75% complete, I thought I would share a little!

Anyway, 3 out of 4 have been chopped. 2 are trimmed and dried, 1 drying, and one will be chopped next week. Dry weights for the first 2 are 42g & 78g. The last plant is the biggest by far, I expect around the 100g mark, but time will tell. I want to get straight onto a fresh 4 and try and beat these results having learnt so much over the past few months but I have to find a new place to live, so it has to wait.

The attached pic is of plant 4. The final and best of the 4. It went into flower almost 2 weeks behind the others, and because of this extra veg time, is a lot bigger. Some things I have noticed since my last posting:
  • The two plants in line with the direction of air flow from the fan grew the biggest of the 4. I will be getting 2 oscillating fans for the next installment.
  • Algae growth towards the end of the grow was quite substantial. I think this would of helped keep the roots in the dark, but probably would of also used up a lot of nutrients. I think it also caused the EC to rise, as it would shoot up quite quickly without the water levels dropping. I will be painting the corex black for the next installment.
  • The Auto Ultimate is probably the best looking plant I have seen. The buds are very pretty, I spent quite a lot of time staring at them!!!
I will post up dried weights of plants 3&4 in a few weeks time. I will also get a smoke report from a few mates on here soon. I had a quarter of a j last night and was quite fucked! But I am a lightweight!!!

Plant 3 came in at 62g. I have accidentally become a fan of the gradual harvest! One of the plants that was in the same NFT tray as plant 4 was ready for harvest a few weeks before plant 4. I chopped this plant leaving 4 branches attached so that the root system would not die off and start rotting (might not have happened in two weeks, but better to be safe and all that!).

The buds on these 4 low branches look like they have doubled in size! from here on I will give the plant a small 2/3 day flush, chop the top half, and then resume feeding for a while longer before flushing again. Does anyone else do this? Or similar?

Geez a shout next time you grow bud.

I'm thinking the first low pH hurdle could be avoided with a lower EC to start and only filling half the res so you have plenty room to add clean water to raise pH rather than add pH up to dirty it. Then we'll see where it goes:smoking:

Thanks KushNFT! I am very tempted to get started with another 2 next week. Just got to wait and see how this batch is received.

Also, plant 4's final dry weight was 99.2g. Very happy with this result. That pushes this grow up to 10oz from 4 plants.

thanx for putting me on this kush :toke:! ive missed this great thread ! nice detailed reading dafthandler! , i like the thing your doing with the airstones next to the pump in res i havnt tried that ! and the way you left some branches intact keeping the root system alive ! good stuff your working the head there ! , sounds like your experience is gaining quick ! good luck with this next one am watching dude !:smoking:

Thanks a lot joke! appreciate it! I'm really looking forward to this one, using a different light this time round, due to ventilation and noise! Had to move the NFT to the other end of the room, which has meant having to use a different light. I have set a target of 150g per plant, 50% above the best of the last 4... eeek!

I checked on the girls this morning. One girl was out of the rock, and one was showing her stalk! The tart!

When I checked again just now, the tart had got herself a little stuck... I've given a helping hand and gently pulled her above ground, but she's still looking a bit sorry for herself. Fingers crossed!
