Dutch Passion Auto Ultimate in the; post...

Go towards the light little one:haha:

I'm sure she'll straighten up in the next day or two....hope so anyway:pass:

She straightened up Kush, then I dropped her sister on her! She's fine now though, actually the strongest of the 4 by the looks of things so far!

So I just plonked the 4 cubes into the NFT trays as roots were showing out of the bottom of the blocks. I took your advise Kush and filled the res with 20l of water. Mixed up some light nutes and then over zealously pH'd it down. It went way too far! Down to 4.5. So I topped the res up to 25l with plain water which sorted the pH!! Valuable advice, thank you!

I think I may of put the girls in too early, I hope not though!!! Here they are, ready for action. Only been in an hour...I might go and check on them...

Almost forgot, the 2 on the left are 2 days older then the two on the right.

Good stuff bud. I don't think you can get them in too early, or at least I think learning to keep the res in good shape run after run is a stepping stone to go searching for gains with letting the rockwool dry out a little to get roots out faster.

The smaller the plant and the bigger the res the slower the pH swings are likely to be so I think there is a benefit there in not filling the res completely as well as having the spare capacity as a safety net for human error. I'm still learning to use pH down too and went OTT with it on my flowering NFT ones the other day and ended up having to take water out to be able to add water and then was getting low on water that was up to temp and had been sitting out so resorted to a few ml of PK boost to bring pH up. Then when I'd sobered up I fixed it a bit better.......there's probably a lesson in there somewhere:haha:

Do you mean turning the pumps off for a while each day?

Yeah. Not seen a convincing case for doing so with Cannabis though and it increases the chances of pump failure so I've parked that idea for now.

Update, this is the growth since Friday. So, 1..2..3.. 5 days growth. Just checked the EC, and its 1300 (or was it 1030?). pH is stable and has not really moved at 5.8. If I shake the pen it drops to 5.7. So I don't shake the pen very much. I will increase the ec slightly tomorrow night as the leaves are a little light. Not a hell of a lot to say really, ticking along.

I'm reading a lot on breeding at the moment and am seriously thinking of breeding an AU with a northern light regular. I don't have a lot of space and wont be able to have lots of plants to really dial in on specific traits, but I am only planning on doing it to learn more about the plant and to make a strain that is my own!!! I've already got a few potential names for them, NULA being one (Northern Ultimate Light Automatic (for when I eventually make it back into an auto)). Another being Hammerfest, a little tribute to the most northern town in Europe (and possibly the world) which has to be the ultimate location for viewing the northern lights I reckon!!! Tedious links I know!

This is them as of yesterday. The two on the right were fimmed just before this photo was taken, I did a bit of leaf tucking today to allow the side branches room to grow uninterrupted. I'm amazed by the size of those leaves, bigger than my hands they are! I have purchased some bulldog clips, and knicked some garden string off the misses and will be tieing the side branches down using the side of the tanks as anchor points. They seem happy, which makes me happy!

Oh, and I gaffa taped the corex to hopefully slow down algae growth.

Hey, thanks for coming by! Have you got a grow journal going? I'm only on the second NFT grow myself, but quite like the system as a whole, its a lot less time consuming than other methods!
