Dutch Passion Auto Ultimate in the; post...

ive taped the sides of my corex, never thought to cover the whole thing. good idea. im just gonna make a wooden frame to go over the top of the tank then use cable ties to pin the branches down. i used string last time and had a few mishaps, snapped branches etc. ive got a journal on but not sure how to share it. ill figure it out on my break later. yeah hand watering isnt an option for me this time due to long hours all weekend so went for this. fuckin confusing to start with but im getting the hang of it at last : )

nah i cant figure it mate, do you know how to share it?

Just subbed up! Good luck dude. The EC thing confuses me a bit too! I just use it as a little guide, number go up, no nutes, number go down, nutes.

I was thinking the other day, do you think the girls are so madly sexually frustrated when they get the chop? I kinda feel for them a bit... absolutely gagging for it, 4 month old virgins. Just wanting a little bit of pollen...

well technically by doing so your redirecting their hormones from the main cola to absolutely everywhere else so yeah. id say it gets them a bit horny lol. never checked mine yesterday as was too fucked after work but going up tonight for a perv and to give them a wee slap about. might even take a cheeky wee snapshot. i noticed you say your ph goes down. mine goes up by a pretty steady 0.2 per day. what does this mean? any ideas?

Do you use an A&B nute mix? If so it could be the nutes mixing further over time and making the liquid slightly more alkaline. I've had this happen to me with previous nutes.

I think mine drifts down due to water being taken up by the plants quicker than the nutes making the nutes & pH down more concentrated. If the plants ate more nutes than they drank, I think the pH would rise.

I think a general rule is if the pH rises, increase EC, if the pH falls add more water, but a drift is pretty good for the plants.

@KushNFT does that sound right to you?

yeah bud im on a/b + uni hydro boost at the moment. sounds like a sensible theory to me anyway. do you ever get your plants behaving differently in the same tray? i thought that by both being in the same res they would be pretty identical but my 2 are like chalk and cheese its very frustrating.

Yeah on the last grow I had one big girl, and one that was half her size, so one reached harvest a lot sooner than the other. This time round there is slight size differences, but that's about it at the moment. I find the plant closer to the pump tends to get bigger, first dibs on the nutes I guess!

Picture update. The girls on the left are 30 days old, right 27 days old. Lefties are approx 30cm circumference, and are bushing out nicely since fimming. I will start training this weekend (quite looking forward to this bit!). I'm thinking of giving them a little bit of a hair cut as some of the leaves are massive, what are your thoughts on defoliating? I know its a hot topic! I'm checking the res pH and ec once or twice a day just to make sure its not swinging too far, and then top up with fresh water & nutes whenever I can't remember last topping up!!! I haven't changed the res yet, and probably wont until I switch to flower nutes. Its a nice lazy grow so far.

I think I'm going to run out of room in the tent for this grow, they aren't showing sex yet, still vegging on. I don't want to count my chicks too soon, but I think I will hit the 100g per plant target.
