New Grower Aksteel First ever Grow

Looking good in here AK! Ballz a plenty on the male! Moonstone doesn't get real tall, specially in a smaller container! Put it in a 5 gallon pot nd she will get real big! There are a couple ways to get your male pollen collected, when ready.

1) you can chop him when he starts to spurt, you can chop him and put him next to your gals in a vase full of plain water and it will push him to super spunk and drop it all, or
2) when he starts to to spurt, chop him and roll him in news paper. He will drop pollen faster and collection is far more easier, especially if you aren't using the pollen right away. let it dry well for a few days, store it in eppindorf containers(your seeds may have come in these and add a few grains of rice.(rice will pull the rest of the moisture out) and when you get ready to get a small paint brush to pollenate your females, grab the eppindorf container by the lid. Your warm hands will cause sweating inside the container, rendering your pollen innert! Just an FYI.

Thanks Briman. Never even thought about heat from my hand causing the container to sweat. Always great little bits of info here. I plan on painting a few lower branches on one of the moonstone girls, let her sit out for a few hours then give her a spray bath before I put her back in the tent. I will mark the pollinated branch to identify it so when we harvest her we will leave that branch on so seeds can mature. Thats the plan anyway.
Thanks for the tips Brim

Thanks Lean. I have gotten all my information and help from the people on this forum. This is a great community. Just keep reading and asking questions and you will be doing your own journal in no time. And Yes, I have the best wife ever considering all the hobbies she takes care of for me while I am away at work. This one though is all for her, she is the one benefiting from the fruits of her labor. I can't partake due to work requirements. So the garden is all for her. Although I love watching these plants grow and change. I keep seeing all these different strains I want to grow just because of the way the flower looks. There are purples and greens and whites and cream colored. Some are short and fat. Some tall and leggy. I think I may have a problem. A slight growing addiction.

Day 40/30 Update

Day 40 Moonstone #1 & #2
So I got home from work 2 days ago and finally after 28 days gone I got to see our plants. They are shorter than what I thought they would be. Both are about 13 inches tall and I think that's all I may get out of them. I checked height measurement for the last 2 days and they have maybe grown 1/2 inch in height. This maybe due to sub prime growing conditions due to low soil ph, light height being to low. It was at 15" when I got home. I raised it but I think it may be to late. There was also an issue with watering. Being afraid of overwatering, my wife was only giving the plants 2 liters of water then letting the pot completely dry out. So she was watering every other day or so. I had some dead leaves, a couple rusty spots and some curly faded leaf tips at the top of the plant when I got home.
So here is what I have done in the last 2 days. Raised light to 24", did a full feed till run off watering with feed ph up to 7.0. Soil ph was just under 6 before feeding. Run off ph'd at 6.5. this first feeding was with veg nutes, I was hoping I still may get a little height.
Installed new carbon scrubber. Phresh filter w/hurricane fan. Works great.
Now I need some opinions. I have some flowers starting to form, actually for being stunted in height both these girls have a lot of bud sites. Should I wait a few more days to see if I get a growth spurt? Or should I switch to bloom nutes and just accept that I have short girls?

I'd give em a few days more, maybe 5, before the bloom nutes just to make sure they are done stretching
