I like my air pots so far. I put a layer of leca on the top it help disperse the water so you can give it a little faster.

I see quite a few people using airpots, myself included and i really like them,so I thought for anyone unfamilier with them I'd post this link to there site,it has some info on how airpots work and benefit your plants etc plus if you click on the USA flag it gives you stockists for all you guys on the other side of the pond :bong: http://www.airpotgarden.com/store/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=catshow&ref=airpot

I did my last grow with 1/2 the plants in air pots and really loved them. My currently grow (Chocolope, Kandy Kush, White Widow non auto) are all in air pots. I germed in .8 gallon then transplanted to 5 gallon.

Nice! Hey, did you have a problem with drainage? (I am. I use a very light, fluffy soil....and it all seems to want to drain out the holes).

For me drainage is better if the soil is wet first when you first put it in the air pot. Mix your soil with water in a separate bucket (not so much that it's soupy) and then add to the air pot. Make sure to press down and compact it. Then when you water do it slowly.

I usally water every 2 or 3 days depending. With the Air pots I never really soak them down or they will leak everywhere which I think helps from overwattering them. I have been pretty successful with the 3L pots but and doing more 5L Pots now to see if the same strains get larger with larger pots.

I have found that with the 3L pots the roots pretty much fill the whole thing so I dont think unless you get some really big ones that you could grow more that one at a time.

I do the opposite of your method mate,I find if the soil is to compact then air will not get into the soil or the roots, which is what the airpot is designed for,I use a light soil with perlite in..when I water I first water half of what I'm feeding,I then wait half hour ish and return to add the rest, this way iv found I dont have much water trickling outa the holes and my pot gets fully watered..:peace:

When I did it that way my soil would compact way too much while watering the first 5 or 6 times. I'd always have to go and backfill the top. It did not nearly matter nearly as much when using the tiny 3L air pots that you are using.

This is my plant, she's about 110cm but iv tied her down to fit in my tent, she's in a 3L airpotView attachment 29426View attachment 29427

I'm impressed you were able to keep that going in the 1gal air pots. I'd love to see a picture of the root ball after you harvest. My last grow I had a Syrup in a 1.5 gallon air pot that could have used a bigger pot in the end. The other that was grown in an air pot was a white dwarf and she had some room left over.

I shall be chopping her down in about 7 days mate and I'll post a pic here of the rootball,I'm keen to see it as well..I didn't expect this plant to grow as big as she has but it's given my confidence to know I can grow decent size plants in relatively small airpots..and I agree with you on having to top up my pot with soil but I only had to do this once or twice :smokebuds:
