I use my ppm meter more than my ph meter.. Super important if you ask me. How else will you know how light or heavy your mixture is? Not only worth it, but I would say mandatory untill you know your nute line like the back of your hand. I'm not a fan of nute burn.

True.
Do you know about what PPM’s should read depending on plant age? Or should I just not go over a certain amount?

There are a few factors involved. Mainly, the nute line, and its recommended amounts... your medium... and what the plants tell you. If you're using soil, you have to take into account whats already in the soil. Lets say its a roots organic/fox farm type. You wouldn't really need nutes for the first few weeks. From there, start low, like 400 ppm and see how it goes. In soil I never went over like 700ppm. In coco, I start low through veg, around 3-400ppm and watch how the plants react. In coco, I dont go over like 1000ppm. Unless of course the plants show signs of needing something more. Most of the recommendations on canna nutes are based on photo periods and have high ppms when mixed as instructed. For instance, Advanced Nutrients starts at almost 1000ppm, at 2ml a gallon of a & b. Nectar for the gods is about 1200ppm from start. Thats before you add anything else, like calmag, or micro nutes or inoculants or whatever you may add or that the plant may need more of. There isn't a set number, but I feel like if you're feeding correctly, and watching the plants, there isn't a need for high ppm.

Thank you. I’ll Screen shot this for future reference

I go by ppms I like knowing I'm being consistent. I use a blend of tap water and RO water so I have to check the ppm of the water anyway. I just find it easy. Hell, i could scoop some with my hand and be close to the right amount lol. I get 700 ppm with 1 1/2 tablespoons so I'll have to see how much less to use. I guess I got in the habit as I started with DWC and now every gallon of water or solution is set by ppm.

I was thinking of getting myself a PPM meter... worth it?

I've always felt these feeding schedules were to much bother and my plants don't care lol. I start feeding at 10-14 days. first and second feeding is 400ppms no matter what brand of nutrient I use. within a week of transplanting into my auto pots, the canopy is as wide as the pot, my signal to start the res. solution will be 600-700 ppms. I pushed these girls a bit but I see a little clawing, I'm more use to Indica doms, they get very dark from too much N and i can spot it before its a problem. So next res will be 2 gallons of plain water. when they'ce consumed that, I'll go back to the megacrop and feed at 600 ppms. My grow style is KISS, I like simplicity and reliability. I'm not trying to grow the biggest plants on the forum, I'm trying to grow good, quality bud, size is a bonus! My system seems to do pretty well

Ok so now that coco has been charged a d into the autopots while I get ready to germ some seeds. I'm also posting a pic of how I have the 1/4" shut off valves before each tray.

I used those valves fir a while. they tended to clog if you use nutrients, work fine with plain water I have some clips made from wire, don't know what they are called, think I got them at the dollar store lol. Anyway, I just bend a loop in the tubing and pinch it closed with the clip.I'm going to run 1/2" tubing to each pot with a 1/2" to 1/4" fitting at the end and 8" of 1/4 tubing to the valve. I've not had a lot od issues with clogs since eliminating those valves but the potential is there. By using the larger tubing the only place they can clog is at the transition fitting. be much easier to find and clear.

Went and got myself a PPM reader today. One of my mixes for one of the girls in coco was like 2740.... lol. No wonder the yellow tips. I added more water to bring it down to about 1150. Not sure if that’s ok. And my tap water comes out at 430. That bad?

430? Hell I wouldn't even drink that lol! At the least I'd get a good, charcoal water filter. RO would be even better. I run my res at 600-700 ppms!

Been looking Into that. For now we use a Brita filter, I’ll have to check the PPM for that next.
I’m way over on feeds then, I’ll lower it some for the future
