i'd say ten inches is good. from what i've seen. auto roots grow more straight down then out. so it's better to have a deeper pot then wider. i think it's because autos usually don't grow out horizontally nearly as much as they grow vertically.

im lovin your Rubbermaid setup Akaz

Thanks man, Im trying to follow another grower's build! I think I am just gonna buy the 10" pots at any big box stores when I am back in town!

I feel like I am taking over Ved's thread, so guys if you wanna help me out or follow my progress, check out my thread in my signature! :D

Sorry Ved, but I feel as if I took over your thread with my questions!!

dont worry about it bro :) i really dont mind :)

Hey u never know.. I didnt want to step on any toes here! We will probably be starting our grows at relatively the same time.. give or take a week or so for me to set up everything! :)

This is a soil grow right? If so, what is your planned soil recipe/mix?

Cheers!

PS: HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!

Have any of you gents smoked Afghan/Paki ryder or did you guys buy it for the 22% THC like myself? Haha. Curious as to the taste. Hash like is pretty vague. Here is a shot of my Afghans

Thanks man! Happy new year to you too!!
Yep, growing in soil right now. Im using Roots Organic. I kind of want to switch and try other mediums like the Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, but so far ive had some pretty decent results with the Roots Organic line that I dont mind growing in it. I just have to remember not to feed for like 3-4 weeks (i usually add just a TAD bit of big bloom every other watering). The soil seems to have what I need for the plant and usually lasts for awhile.
Ive been searching for a Super Soil mix where I dont have to use any Nutes or anything. I really would love to do it 100% organic in soil so Im trying to do some research. I would love to make a 1 cubic foot bag of super soil but getting the measurements and everything just right is tricky =\

Nawwwww its funny how I came around to choosing Afghan Kush Ryder.. I needed something I could leave lights on for 24/0 lol and required less maintenance maybe and something small and fit in my closet... hence my stacked rubbermaid grow plan... sooo got an autoflower, afghan kush ryder is on sale at Attitude as well.. lol and the 22% THC is not bad :D

For my grow, the original author of that "build" uses this:
o 2 parts Promix (mostly compost)
o 1 part Perlite (provides drainage)
o 1 part Vermiculite (holds water).

He also adds some organic fertilizers and natural stuff:
o 2 tbsp per gallon - Bone Meal (slow release of phosphorous)
o 1 tbsp per gallon - Blood Meal (slow release of Nitrogen)
o 1 tbsp per gallon - Dolimite Lime (sweetens soil as slow release anti-acid and source of Calcium and Magnesium)

Im in Canada so it's quite shitty we dont get Fox Farm here... very rare to find any.. There's some FF nutrients but not all of them... so I think if I do use nutrients, to go with Advanced Nutrients.. have heard good things... but then again if I can just use a soil less mix and just use water.. that would be sweeet... I think I came across a thread in another forum of mixes.. Sorry for linking to another forums...but its got some good info for soil mixes with no nutes in there...

cheers

Hey everyone!! Hope you had a great New Year! I was busy germing and waiting for these beans to pop.

I used the usual method, moist towel. The afghan and pakistan poped in about a day and a half. The blue took about 2 days to pop.

Here are the 3 that are going right now. The Afghan is top left, Blue Himalaya is top right, and Pakistan is bottom right.

and heres the pakistan........ which seems to be shy... hope she comes out to say hi. (i gave a mist around its area as the soil was feeling pretty dry.. hope she comes up :()

*and this is a Haze auto (dinafem) I had a bean left over so i thought I would grow that also. I most likely wont be keeping a log on this one, but you'll probably see it when im taking pics of the other 3.

Right now I havent fed them with anything. Im trying to keep my pH around 6.5, but right now im using the droppers w/ pH up/down. So far they are looking pretty good so Im going to let them do their thing and hopefully they turn out nice and healthy.

PROBLEM!!

Well, I check my grow this morning and the blue himalaya seems to be drooping.. im not sure why, all the other's are sprouting just fine so im wondering if its maybe the soil or maybe its just the seed? Im not sure but at the moment the Blue Himalaya seems to be dieing!!!!!

But im doing my best to nurse it back to health. fuuuuck this sucks!!
Not sure if she'll make it! :( keep you posted.
