Yes keep the pH at 5.6 when using DWC as recommended by AN...

Lmao. I know. Grr. between that and their nutrient calc, they've really confused me. Guess thats what I get from not asking enough questions to the experienced pro's first.

Being that you're not in DWC and using low pressure aero, and myself having experienced this exact thing not more than 4 weeks ago... you're either 1) running too high an EC and it's causing things to get locked out like calcium, or 2) you're just needing to add some calcium in there. You can do one of two things. Get some pickle crisp from the grocery store or wherever they sell canning supplies, or... and this is the perfect time of year for it, get some calcium chloride ice melt, the high purity stuff, not the Dow flakes. Morton makes a high purity CaCl, and it's the same 94-97% purity you'll find in pickle crisp. Very sparingly, though, like .1-.2 grams per gallon.

I would first, though, drop your EC. In my aero I run 1.4 EC on my photoperiod plants, and .8-.9 on my autos now. I just had a batch of autos in a 1.2 EC solution in the rails and I'm getting that same blotching as we speak.

Just my :2cents:

Appreciated. Just to confirm, I have made these changes -

Add 50ml of FloraMicro to res
Add 2ml of FloraMicro, 2ml of B1, and a dash of epsom salt to 1.5L sprayer and lightly foliar spray during lights out, turning my ventilation up to prevent mold from areas of high humidity.

I will be making these changes as soon as lights come back

-Lower EC - How do I lower EC and keep the same PPM?
-Raise PH to 5.8 and do the yo yo effect of letting it rise by itself to 6.1, then lower it again to 5.8, ect

Medicine Man, Should I add pickle crisp or calcium chloride ice melt in conjunction with the GH FloraMicro that I just added until I receive my SensiCal?

I just ordered Advanced Nutrients SensiCal & AN Overdrive.

Am I missing anything else at the moment?

uptake of phsphorus and potassium and also magnesium which only becomes availbale above ph 5.8..

Hey seymour :D This is not strictly true for low-pressure systems like the Aeroflo^2-36 units. 5.8 is okay for the grow and bloom with high-pressure aero and flood & Drain. Alleviating carbonate-mediated pH swing is a common obstacle with low pressure environments when using ionic blends such as the AN series.

dude you are running massive amounts of p-k in your flower regime and im guessing this could also be adding to your problems, you have bud factor xl and big bud and now you wanna add overdrive which is also a pk boost, the plants could well be showing signs of pk toxicity and thats whats cauisng the burning effect

id go back to basics and just stick with the base nutrients mate and the candy

just my opinion

I used the last 40ml of bud factor X last night, which before then I was using 125ml twice a week, so no more of that to worry about.

Same thing goes for the Big Bud, which was finished off last Tuesday.

Currently using Con A&B, Bud Candy, B1, FloraMicro (just started using it an hour ago)

You need to fix you micro-nutrient deficiency. The brown necrotic spots are indicative of either boron, copper and manganse deficiencies or a combination of them - this could be caused by excessive applications of cal/mag which can effect their solubity products.. I don't think your EC is likely to be the problem. You are already adopting the recommended ppm but reducing isn't likely to cause them any harm.

Assuming that you are using RO water, the filtration system will remove almost all your content from your irrigation source. It is my understanding that the RO system also removes carbonate alkalinty from the water, which could be causing fluctuations in root-zone EC. Due to the high degree of aeration, the water will quickly take on carbonate alkalinity from the atmosphere. Carbonates are the primary pH buffers in natural water systems. and are basically atmospheric CO2 that gets dissolved in water and then participates in acid/base chemistry.

Carbonates are ions, and therefore would register on your ppm meter, and might possibly account for an increase in ppm, and possibly an increase in pH over time with your aeroflo system. As the water level drops in your system, your concentrations of nutrients, and pH buffers will also change. Those Aeroflo 36's move quickly and you have to stay on top of the water chemistry.

something like the Lucas formula....

people get too caught up with the flashy names... walk before your run.

100% id say the leaves are toxic and not defiecient, way to much p+k in his bloom feed which the plants arent fully absorbing and causing lock out which is then locking out other nutrients

id honestly go back to basics and just run the base nutrient and the candy
