Hey buddy...all is going well...hope you are having an excellent summer! That's a good question...is the water in room temp , set to 85degree room temp? That is warm for sure! I have no idea on whether or not that would have a negative impact?
Hmmmm.....

Killer yielder on your outdoor autos man! Huge daiquiri!!!! I only got about 7oz from both cheese xxl I just chopped past twenty four hours....need me some bigger strains! Or to go outdoor lol

Best yield is still to come without a doubt!! Autoultimate is the ultimate! I have to chec out your cheese autos..going to take a look right now!

Thank you all for helping and lending ideas.

First off the bat I just want to say I'm not here to try and trash DP . They are a great seed company - no doubt. they have always treated me well. So not here to give bad feedback.
For the record I have grown a number of their strains and had great success -

In fact I have grown predominantly DP.

My persistent problems ; with what I think are hermies - continues to baffle me.

Whilst I did have a few plants that fully bannanad on me- my issue now is that I grow plants with tiny tiny mini immature seeds in the calyxes ??? These seeds never grow to more than a 5th or even an 8th the size of a normal seed.

I fact once the plant is dried and cured - the tiny seeds seem to shrivel even more.

I have just learned to live with them for now as I mostly vape - so I'm hoping the carcenagenic property of smoking seeds (in a joint) isn't happening !
They are too small to pick out.
For now i have to make do.

I'll be stopping briefly for a break.
But when I'm back Im going to try an alternate breeder just to see if this problem persists .

Does anyone else here have anything inside the calyx ? Or am I alone in experiencing these tiny mini immature seeds??

Thank you all
For taking time to help!

The thing that blows me away is so many other guys growing DP seed do not have the hermy problem, but a very select few seem to have the issue with multiple strains which certainly point to environment and not seed stock. Ive grown out Colorado Cookie, Brooklyn Sunrise, Auto ultimate, Daiquiri lime and photos Blueberry, Frisian dew and Hollands hope. I had one bluebery hermy outdoor last year, but I believe it was caused due to stress fro a major stalk splitting from heavy wind. The rest I have never seen a nanner.
Good luck pal, hope it all works out for you.

Yeah - I have also come to the conclusion my problems are environment based.

I'm in a loft which isn't optimal for temps (hot summer-cold winter) but that's all I have so I just keep rolling onward and hope to one day eradicate these little mini seeds I'm getting .

Does no one else have any experience with these little immature seeds in the calyx ?

Or am have I created a whole batch of mutant mini seeded munsters all on my own!

Hey - it's nature after all - I can only try my best to steer it along !

been there aswell and trust me its a massive heartbreaker

its feminized seeds period. end of

i have my own theories on this but now i will only grow reg seeds as i want my females to be 100% female .

Wow- @seymour-buds

It's a serious theory . So you think the inbreeding feminisation process is creating the mini seeds.
If that's the case I'd of thought everyone here is getting the same thing .

But you seem to be the first other head on here who has shared my experience. Which makes me wonder if no one else is really looking hard enough or we just share some environmental issue (tap water ??)

That's the problem with this stuff. You go through all the logical theory but in the end come in a full circle mostly !

bro

cannabis does have the ability to produce both male and female traits and the reason for this is purely to make sure their is a next generation if the female is not pollinated but the only time a true female plant produces pollen is well past her bloom cycle

breeders who stress their females to produce pollen tend to do around weeks 4 to 7 12/12 some wait slightly earlier some slightly longer but you will find in the offspring this is also the time hermies will show. baiscally your triggering the plants hermie response time which then shows through in the next generation of fem seeds

i went through exactly the same thought process you are going through questioning everything in my set-up but eventually 1 got a blues clone from a friend and guess what happened.

i can tell you right now their is no such thing as a 100% feminized seed FACT

i personally think breeders should stipulate how the produce their fem seeds wether it be chemical or natural by letting the female grow right through and producing herself at least this way end growers get the choice were to put their money but the seed business is not regulated

most top breeders only produce reg seeds

just for the record its not just dutch passion who have this problem with their fem seeds quite a lot of seed companies who produce fem beans have the same outcome

i think soma is 1 of those growers who produces fem seeds in a natural way.

times are changing in the canna world and some breeders are working with tissue culture plants. after a few generations of tissue culture breeding the plants dont produce pollen and become disease resistant but personally i think this is border line gmo

regs and clones from reg fems is the way forward for me.

its a deep topic mate i just cant fit all the details in 1 post but dont feel alone on this subject

If I may add, I have had same problem with Royal Queen Seeds.

wow- @seymour-buds

A lot of food for thought indeed.
Really grateful for the info bro.
A very very deep topic indeed- One i'll need to mull over for a while.

Has pretty heavy implications for Auto growers. Non fem being impossible.

It has been a bit difficult to deal with at times because there seems to be so much misinformation floating about.
A lot of suggestions that turn out to be dead ends- well intentioned- but often totally misguided.
Can end up doubting yourself pretty heavily.

But hearing this from someone who first got me inspired to grow means a lot.
So massive thanks mate.
