Dutch Passion A Year of DP Hermis

Hello Seymour, haven't seen you on here in a while :smoking:

I think to summarize, it's just bad luck and possibly something a bit out of tune in the grow environment. Certain things will stimulate plants to hermie, so naturally we can't rule that out just yet until we're 100% sure everything is correct and consistent.

Seymour is indeed right, no seed is ever 100% feminized. Whilst I personally have never germinated a male plant, that's not to say that other people with the exact same seeds may not have. Genetics can be a complex study

I had a Dutch Passion, Durban Poison, from other seed bank, hermie on me, @dirtbag exactly how you explained it. The calyxes were filled with those immature seed pods. I got about 5 oz of fluffy, airy "bud".
I believe it was stress from accidentally leaving the window open, cold weather, overnight, early flower, in the room my tent was in.The temp in the tent dropped to 54, from 82ish, I imagine very quickly.
I'd imagine a 30* temp drop was the cause for this. I had other DP strains going at the time, Mazar, Bluberry, Great White Shark, and Polor Light [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG], all of which were unaffected and delicious, I'm guessing because they were a bit further into flower.
Just thought I'd chime in with my limited experience on the subject.

peace

Has pretty heavy implications for Auto growers. Non fem being impossible.

im a fan of auto flowers mate but in America some of the big growers are really kicking off about hemp pollen pollinating their outdoor crops and are trying to seek ways around this as they feel it weakens the genetics again another big topic open for debate

I wouldn't say non fem autos are impossible mate its just a lot easier to stress the best looking plant and produce seeds to sell, true breeders will actually put the time and effort in selecting and choosing the right cuts

Thought id chime in, never had any hermies on previous dp auto grows but this season is a different story. Not all bad, out of 7 think bigs 4 have seeds. Not full of them but they are there. Ive never grown full term plants from them but i know google tells me to stay away. So far the auto night queens look nice. Best looking auto to date. All 7 have nice chunky buds

There are good news here!
Since last month I switched my water from tap to bottle.
I grew 7 AU and 9 BAMs and no one of em turned hermie.
Considering that in my last 6 grows (all tap watered) i always had hermies,
I think I finally found my issue's cause!

i used tap water during last year.
My actual water is bottled.
It seems to work great at the mom.
My tap is about 270/290 ppm.
But i guess the problem is some chemical additive like ammonium and stuff that is present in my tap!
