Dutch Passion A Year of DP Hermis

There are good news here!
Since last month I switched my water from tap to bottle.
I grew 7 AU and 9 BAMs and no one of em turned hermie.
Considering that in my last 6 grows (all tap watered) i always had hermies,
I think I finally found my issue's cause!

Its not the first time I have heard of this, which is why I suggested that water might have been an issue. Great you figured it out and everything is going great again!

I have ran into a hermi problem in my past breeding experience. This tends to be a few things that need to be narrowed down.
Growing conditions/ lights/ soil or grow medium/ soil ph and water ph/ temperature/ air flow/ temperature swings/ oxygen is the air clean/ light intensity and Hight above canopy.
Breeders often times breed from feminized seeds and that is the start of a problem. When you grow and seed a feminized plant she already has the possibility to herm in the first initial seed run because of the ways In which people make the female seeds you force them to herm. And ever time those feminized seeds are seeded the percentage of herms go's up with every generation. Unless they bring it back out of feminized status to make regular seeds they will get worse every generation till it's all fuckedup.
So if the breeder doesn't use good breeding practice and continues to seed feminized seeds and from those seeds make more female seeds it will almost always end up with bad herm issue. So for best results make female seeds then bring the back out to a non feminized seed to get regular seeds again and start over from their. I've did an extermination of sorts with fem seeds. I first made some female seeds then my next run I grew them and then made seeds from them again. The next run into had 1 out of 10 herm not bad but a veiw of thing to come. So I then made more female seeds from them again this was the third set of fems I made and I got a 50/50 mix of herms. I went one more seed run just to see what's going to happen well 100 percent herms from then on out. I had to bring it back out of female status with a non female seed. 2 seed runs later absolutely no herms back to female seeds they went.
If the breeders don't use thoughtfull breeding practices then they will eventually have problems with it in the end. And a even bigger picture is if breeder keep putting out these seeds and the home growers breeds it and so dose everyone else they will make progressively weaker and weaker genetics causing all sorts of problems. Don't breed weak plants please.

Well, i told it in my first post, DP is total bullshit from my point of view , i dont care to say it ! they make me lost time, money, nutrients etc... they just pay for advertising , this bank is one of the baddest ! i had full hermy too and banana
so what to think about the Tang grow ??? ... no way

like is said, i have my top 4/5 seed bank, if you want to know what are the real pro, ask me in private (even if im new here, im not new in the buziness and im 34 years old )

I'm sorry for the op , really :(

think u're too rush man.
This is what i was thinking before changing my water.
Now i have to admit that the problem was just my poor experience!
We learn something new everyday!
That's the only thing I'm sure of...

Really glad to hear you have gotten back on the right path @SirGreen
Im now thinking water could indeed be my big enemy- lord knows I've tried fixing all other elements.

To be fair i feel a bit bad that this thread keeps rolling along in the DP section as it is by no means related purely to them!!
I have just run a few other strains from BigBuddah and Fast Buds and much to my dismay that have all also shown these same mini seeded results...
No bananas this time- but they all devolp these tiny immature seeds that must surely effect the smoke.

So i think its important to state that- this is not a Breeder related issue for me.

I have until now been syphoning water from my main water tank in the roof of my place (sitting out for at least 24 hrs before use)
But it just dawned on me that this water sits open aired up there (no lid) and has probably never ever been cleaned (for a t least 20 years I'm guessing)
Lord knows there could be a dead pigeon in there -
My mains water (Drinking water) comes from another source - direct.
So next run I'm going to try only using the mains direct water and also a test plant on Bottled water to see what happens...

Im really hoping i don't now rely on on bottled water as its not only expensive but also pretty shitty for the planet.

Finger crossed- you can only live and learn !!!

Ill beat these mini seeded mutants if its the last thing i do- until then i'll be converting all this compromised seed weed into BUBBLE HASH

Always look on the bright side an all that !!

anyway...
courage and best luck for ur grow
:growing:

Errata corrige my friends.
My Bams went bad again.
They started to show their pollen sacs at 20 days old and i didn't see them in time.
Now that i'm at about 45 days they are starting to form seeds.
It's been also my fault of course.
But i'm starting to think that this could really be a genetic problem.
I'm really sorry for this because i love this strain but i'm not trying it anymore.
Hope u are doing fine with your grows
