A couple of questions from a first time grower who recently planted.

Maybe try what 420forever said and do a bit of surgery.

Dropping some water on her worked like a charm. She popped open overnight! There's still a bit of membrane stuck there, but I figure it'll grow out of it and grow new leaves soon enough. I guess plants really do like Recharge.

To anyone - Can I remove the humidity dome now? And should I begin watering it more? I made sure to water it in a circle around it.

Happy growing :bighug:

When would be the optimal time remove the dome now? Any tips on how long to hold them in domes?

Thanks!

You could do it now. I like to slowly transition mine while they develop a waxy cuticle to withstand a lower humidity. Especially if your dome can be vented I would wait until they turned a nice green.

Hi how ya doing ...... MrOldBoy here ..... Hope I can help ....

Question - what is the temperature at plant level - I ask because you mentioned something about lights and being able to stabilize temps hanging X inches from plants - also mentioned was lower end of temp range .......

Young plants like 80+ temps, I start mine at 85 degrees and they stay at that temp for a few days and then slowly down to around 78-82 degrees but only after the second set of true leaves due I lower much below 82 degrees .... Humidity I like to keep around 70% when young so until we know what the humidity is in the tent it’s probably best to keep the dome on and yes vent the dome .....

Plants should be able to grow to around 14 days minimum before needing any fertilizer- soil should have plenty already, in fact, your soil could be too hot for a start - you might wanna think about getting some organic starter soil such as Espoma Organic Starter Soil or Jiffy Organic Starter Soil and make a pocket / hole and fill with starter mix and let them grow into your Fox Farms .....

Good Luck!

Peace,
MOB

It's around 78 - 85 F in there, with humidity around 60 - 65%, but I do have a dome on it right now. Happy Frog is too hot for seedlings? I thought that was Ocean Forest.

I wouldn’t go below 82 degrees - big slow down and germination issues below 80 degrees - humidity ok but low - would also move light up to 30” - even 36”, they don’t need nor want a lot of light that first day or two - after couple days slowly drop light like inch a day down to 30” ..... put space heater outside tent to warm room up if needed - also position fans above lights to blow warm air down - just thinking out load, maybe you are doing .....

IMO yes happy frog is too hot besides look at your dirt and what they have to push up / thru and those big chunks of perlite - starter mix is much lighter and easier for your seeds to get started in - you’ll have great results, give it a try .... you can get at big box store or even Walmart - cheap to try and yes Ocean Forest is way too hot!

I'm not really able to move my light up - it's kind of at its peak within my tent. Same goes for humidity; if I don't want to have to refill my humidifier twice a day with 2 gal each, I have to let it be around 60% RH. But I have no issues with temperature. In fact, I'm probably more worried that I won't be able to keep it below 80 F for late veg and flowering.

How much water should I be giving the plant at this point? Approximately a week in soil from when it popped up. Should I be watering to 10 - 15% runoff at this early stage?
