Have read and seen a lot of articles and videos relating the purple petioles and other purpling to P. Never knew how much was bro science and what was actual science. I get it fairly often with high DLI indoors, but like you said with your NYSD/Headbanger, usually only on the upper petioles. So, makes perfect sense

Wonder if there is a correlation between the chemicals forming a "sunscreen" and P....??????? So, what forms the sunscreen?

I get it on some strains, but its hard to tell whats genetics and whats nutrient related.

Oh yes, my bad, there is some color link to P defc., but by itself is hardly diagnostic... my general pint is that other things can cause it too, so it comes down to what mitigating factors are suspect in one's grow....

@Cerebral Goo -- she showed deeply colored stems early on, I get the feeling by genetic expression as much as OD life... As you can see, she's nearly black everywhere...Sun exposed calyxes went purple, more green on inners... leaf undersides had that subtle purple layer over green...
I asked the breeder of this cross about the color in fact, which apparently is from the NYSD side if the source was old/original enough...

My stuff has purple stalks and branches most grows. Can be strain specific. Jean-O’s Root Beer Float is almost solid purple stalks and branches this grow.

Mine too, and others I've seen.... I forget just now who's RBF this was, but it's one of the best looking auto's I've ever seen! trich production was off the hook on this pheno in particular--
