ViparSpectra P4000 vs. XS4000

Has anyone used either of these and are they any good? Will be for my 2.5'x4.5' closet. There are a few differences in them but are the differences worth $120 price difference or not?

I see that the xs4000 has more red for flower but is that really worth the extra money? Both are in my budget just want the best bang for my buck!

@Talonxracer can you compare the info above for me and tell me what you think is best? From what ive seen you are the light guru on here!

If I were in your shoes I'd buy something other than a Viparspectra. But, out of those 2 the XS will be a better light. 301B diodes are better and it has a better driver.

XS4000 has the getter components and on paper looks like half decent light.

Personal I would save up that little bit extra cash and get a DIY HLG kit. With better warranty and far less chance of diodes failing on you in a year or two.

Yea i have another promo the final cost for the XS would be $315. Just wondering if itll be good for flower? I need a light good for both veg and flower as i dont have my other closet setup yet itl be awhile before i do.

I researched those as well im unsure about it still. I have it on my list but i dont like that there is no dimmer knob and exposed wires connecting the boards. This is seriously the hardest decision ive had to make in a long time. Haha been at it for over a week weighing all my options. I have like 30 index cards with info for each light and comparing them all. Just want the best light i can get for my space so i dont have to worry about it for awhile but i want to go a little overpowered so i have more than enough rather than not enough.

What Im saying is you can go with most of the other companies get a great light that will grow the dank, there's nothing wrong with their products but you may start to have diodes crap out on you in a couple of years or worse driver failing. Its a roll of the dice.

Or get the HLG with all the warranty and good customer service and have a light that you will hang in your tent for next 10 yrs that you won't have to think about. And if you do get issues HLG will replace parts. Hell they even replaced parts for a bunch of people who got scammed on Amazon thinking they was buying HLG but got Chinese knock offs.

HLG are are just a good investment, cheaper lights will give them a run for their money and even be on par with them but you won't get that warranty and customer service.

I have used viparspectra P series and XS series, the XS is hands down better as a full spectrum light, less led's with better PAR in a more balanced spectrum.

But in my honest opinion a strip type light provides a far better coverage/PAR map and is the route I would suggest.

Yea quality customer service and warranty is worth the few extra bucks for sure. How long is their warranty? I cant find anything on it in detail just says 3 year local warranty? Im not local. Lol far from it. Also what do you think about the migro aray4 for a 2.5x4.5 area? He has a US full 3 year warranty for extra 30 bucks which would put his light at $305 total.
