Mephisto Genetics A grow room(s) make-over thread with Mephisto!

Thanks dude!

It depends the time of year but we always have a tent on 24/0 somewhere, if it's spring/summer we place wrapped in an item of clothing in the top bars of the tent,

If it's on the cooler side we can place the same wrapped package closer to/on top of the reflector

Just try and keep it in the Goldilocks zone - not too hot not too cold :D

Cheers

Looking great Mitch those beans look healthy

Mitch I had a tiny bit of mold in the main colas of some not all toof decay and 24 c AT 60 TO 70 PERCENT. You are so right on defoliating I have had close to 4 ounces off a 24 c by defoliating and a easy 4 ounces off of some of my bigger toof decay by defoliating sometimes all a room needs is more air movement that being said I will not grow toof decay in mid summer that will be a winter strain for me and toof decay where i can keep it at 40% to 45% RH. My wife is adamant on a 10x10 foot room so I can do fifty at a time in 3 gallon containers. I have been ripping some well cured HBSS for the first time and WOW Mitch unreal. I love that terpinator give it a whirl on some personal herbs you will notice a huge difference in smell and terpinoid production I have. There is an increase in THC too and the taste is out of this world http://terpinator.com/ Cheers Mitch and TEAM MEPHISTO

You possibly could have gotten the mold from too much defoliation. If you defoliate in flower, do not cut or pinch the leaf stem too short. It will ooze and can cause mold. Rather leave a nice portion of the leaf stem for a couple of days. By then it will pretty much fall off and will not ooze right next to the stalk. I have grown hundreds upon hundreds of plants over the years and did defoliate heavily for a while. With the right strains and done the right way, it will help increase yields. But what are increased yields worth if you cause Mold? Some strains hate it. Of course I still do light defoliations still, but I don't strip them naked. And I always leave some stem, especially in flower. If not, it can cause mold. More light, bigger buds, and moisture from snipping stems too close too the buds can ruin your nice main Cola and then some! Obviously some strains are more likely to mold than others, but trust me...be careful with defoliation in flower.

So it's been pretty hectic the last week or so finishing up round 1 and starting round two immediately.

I'll do a detailed report of round one when we have all the results in and accounted for.

But here's the new blood for round 2 - photos taken yesterday 28th Nov - dates vary for the strains.
....

Tent 1 - 3 Bears OG Mitch's pick - day 8
Planted directly to pot, half the tent is in fresh all-mix, half in our recycled amended soil.

Two popped through several days later than the others so we may ditch those and transplant some of the 3bog started in 1.5 liters at the same time - incidentally the ones started in the 1.5's are significantly bigger than these direct to pot ones at this stage.
.....

Tent 2 - Ripleys OG - these were started in 1.5 liters of fresh light-mix and transplanted at sex - 16 days from sprout - the experiment in this tent has been to leaf tuck one side versus top the other half - this was done at d19 yesterday just after the photo was taken

.....

Tent 3 - Sour livers - these were started as regulars in 1.5 liter pots - same age as the ripley's these will be leaf tucked only and if they look like they'll make a giant main cola may be topped in a week or so - playing these by ear basically.

.....

Tent 4 - sour livers x sour hound - direct to pot same age as the 3bog - and same soil trial as the 3bog. You can see the double sprouts the best from each pot will be kept - I'll sort those maybe tomorrow

....

Tent 5 - double grape fems
These are in the 2x 600w tent Day3 on average
Switched to 300w each on 24/0 at the moment.

.....

Tent 6 - white stomper - day1

IMG_5809.JPG

.....

Everything is on 24/0 -

3bog, sl x sh, w.stomper are on 600w with the e-papillons
Double grape is on 600w with the digital ballasts
ROG and the Sour Livers are on 750w with their e-papillons

Cheers and fingers crossed for a nice fun ride.

Same strain dude! Just toying with names.

Isn't something with 'Walter' or 'White' in the name more appropriate than 'Crack' ? I understand that there is no GreenCrack/Cush in the genetics, just SODK x WW ? Call it something like Walter Orange or White Soda I dunno... I'm just saying that I assumed there was sour crack (green crack / cush) in the genetics when I saw the name Orange Crack

Also, you have commented yourself in this thread how some phenos are leaning to the "sour crack" side... which again confuses the SODK X WW parentage for me? help! hehe, and thanks in advance :)

Where can i Found out some more info on Orange Crack?? it sounds sooo interesting to me...

There is confusion within this very thread in the comments from Mephisto:
"Orange is the new crack - sodk X Walter white"
"Noo it's just sodk X Walter white"

but then later:
"Orange crack - sour crack dominant girl"
--of course sour crack = 24 carat x green crack

Sorry that may have been a typo by me,
White crack - sour crack x Walter white
