If you have time, then I would definitely recommend using all the supplementary b-tabs products, like in the starter kit,
But even for us, just the tabs alone give a nice end product with very little effort

Mitch, if u don't mind. At what height do u have ur lights from your plants? Do you try to mantain it throught the grow? ik you guys use 600w/1000w, in this case ill be using an eye hortilux 400w hps. thanks in advance.

It depends on reflector type really and the light spread needed.
If in the parabolic you can get the shade pretty damn close.
If using the double ended hps (again depending on what power it's set at) 18 inches at a guess, but I go by eye and feel primarily.

Use your hand to check the intensity at canopy level, then adjust to suit,
