Indoor Zaaboot has gone to pot 2022 auto spree

Gorilla Glue _ Day 1
So then, yesterday morning after looking at the Cali Doctor lady and wanting to pull her, I thought I would throw a seed into the worm castings tub I have starting using to germinate, thanks for everyone's help on that - anyway, planted 1, 1 came up very very quickly, in fact it has started growing in to the bed of worm castings so I have just left it and will transplant to final pot once I see some root on the bottom or side of the tub.
Gorilla Glue - Barney Farm - this is first day above ground (sort of sitting on ground with a little underground)

---GORILLA GLUE AUTO™ by Barney’s Farm is a rapid flowering hybrid that will glue you down wherever you may be. This is not a plant for beginners and its hard hitting effects should be treated with respect.

This new super-fast version 55% Indica of our glorious Gorilla Glue crossed with the exciting next generation BF Super Auto #1 produces huge yields 600g/m2 growing to height of up to 110cm.

Gorgeous scents of coffee and cream can be detected during flowering.

Combined with notorious THC levels of 25% and you can understand the deep love people feel for this unique plant. In only 70-75 days huge fragrant flowers with very tight nodal spacing will erupt from this monstrous autoflower.

Currently sitting on a very very wet towel (after the clean up last night) inside a heated prop in a tub of only worm castings and dechlorinated water.

I only just dropped my first beans on 29 June of last year, so I'm still pretty new (though tbh I'm not sure what qualifies someone as *not* new lol be it plant count or time or what) and I'm most definitely still learning. I'm definitely leaning towards this being the method I stick to as there's something really freeing about letting go of control and just letting the girls do what they're gonna do.
oh wow, your first ever bean was last year, or just yoru first Auto, either way - I am liking the grow you run
cheers

First ever! I've learned a LOT along the way, mostly my ineptitude with salt nutes  as far as your flood, what is your temp and humidity at currently? I'd assume RH has shot up with that sort of saturation? If so you're going to need to compensate with adding heat to keep your VPD in range until it evens out. As far as your soil goes, I'm honestly not sure as I've only been running mine since January and haven't had to deal with that. Someone like @AJrexxx, @WildBill, or @Fermented_Fruitz may be able to advise you on that or at least point you in the right direction!

Well then all - I was thinking to myself yesterday that this is all to easy and wondered why I had always done 'controlled everything', last night on my way to bed, I thought I would check the temps to see if they are still staying flat - and the bloody tent was full of water.
Looking in the water butt, I would say about 40 litres had washed through - after much checking at 3 or 4am Tee culprit was one of the carrots in the 39ltr living soil pot, so I am pretty sure all that water has washed the goodness out of that soil.
Anyway, closed of the blumats, then spent a while mopping up with towels.

Calling all soil or living soil people - the soil is drenched, I am still sucking up what is coming through the pot in to the saucer which has pretty much stopped now, how long to I leave it for? Do I try to dry the soil, how what when?

Very happy with the DR tent - they are always strong, not a drop of water left the tent (twas about an inch deep), no electrics were touched, no other plants, no carpets, and no Z's were harmed in the making of this story :vibe:

If anyone has any ideas, please put your answers on a postcard and send to eh BluePeter studio - alternatively, reply here

Have a sterling Sunday one and all

This is why i only used blumats when I was doing very small containers with a small reservoir.( i don't use them at all anymore) Every time I thought I had it under control one would mess up and make my life hell. So this I was checking the blumats so often it was less time consuming to water. I know some people swear by them but my luck has not been good no mater how much I like the concept.

Since I have gone to bigger pots 10 15 and 30 gallon I just hand water unless its really dry I can go three days without watering. When I go on vacation I have a small pump with a timer and water 15 minutes a day with 1 gpm drippers. It is not optimal but will not flood and the girls do okay.

What is the soil question? That the water washed everything away?

The carrot that leaked was in the LIving soil nag - it is a 39ltr bag, with Ecothrive - I have been told when using living soil not to have run off as it washes everythign out of it - based on that, do I need to do anything, is there anything I can do.
I use water only, and have some dry stuff from Ecothrive but not sure what to do as it is the first run with the soil

Yes, I thought it was all good, ultimately I have to get it to work, the blumats will be water only so no gung build up hopefully, but I go away a lot so need it to work, a few more tweaks and it will work...fingers crossed

Thanks Suki - I spent last night before getting to bed soaking up what I could with towels, and yanked the extractor up to 100% and threw a tube heater in there, it is pretty dry now - probably just some residual under the big tray

I mean in reality the only real way to tell what is there is a soil test takes time and money and that is prohibitive. My thoughts are something has to be retained how much and what is another story. What are you amending with? Dry amendments?

For an example here is what I would do in your situation and you can take it for what it is worth.

If I had this happen in a ten gallon and I feared I washed out all my nutrients and biology. I would top dress maybe three quarters my normal re amendment amount (or half depending on how comfortable you are with it). I typically use about 4 cups per ten gallon of BAS nutrient blend. So for this I would go with 3 cups kind of work in the top layer and then cover with 1/2 cup bokashi and then cover with worm castings. Every time I reamend I always use Bokashi and castings.

If you think that is two much go with half your normal amount. Long as you are comfortable amending and knowing the signs its not that big a deal. I just wouldn't go full bore because something is retained how much you will probably not know.

I would also hit in with some beneficials if you use them root inoculants, mykos, LAB whatever you use.

It may seem bad now but you will learn a lot making it through this.

You could also make the case for going half then reamending at the start and middle of flower. I just would not overdue it as once its in your not getting it back out. You do not want to overfeed for that reason.

There might be a more scientific answer out there but that is not my thing.

Take notes and monitor the response to what you did it will make you a better grower in the long run.
