thanks mate - thats the plan, the way they work is on moisture content, very simple but clever, essentially the clay carrot expands, and contracts very slightly based on water/moisture content around the carrot. In theory, if I can work out the perfect moisture % I want in the soil, I should be able to set them up to keep it at that level. At the moment I am pissing in the wind a bit as I am guessing how moist the soil should be.Im a lowly muck chucker m8 as you know but I feed small amounts increasing as the plant grows through to watering to pot capacity with a wee bit of run off by the time their fully established then I go wet dry cycle.. easy peas.. Not sure how you would maintain a moisture level in soil.. i'd be concerned about over watering in trying to do so. Is it due to using the Blumats (if thats right name lol) that you want to maintain a moisture level rather then wet and dry cycle? I know youre away quite a bit from your posts so assume wet dry cycle isn't an option for that reason? Is it possible to set the blumats that way???
If i was home more often, I would for sure handwater - the closer you are to them the easier it is to get it right.
Right then, looks like a book on moisture content of soil is in order - I have 7 days to get this nailed , there aint no stopping a stoner on a mission
