Gonna move that convo over here so as not to hijack lol. But for me, the biggest thing is to build your grows around your grow space. I specifically choose strains that are meant to stay small. My goal is to maximize my output while keeping my footprint as small as possible. I like having variety, and as long as I'm harvesting about an oz a month I stay ahead of our usage. My first auto run was 4 small girls in 5gal pots. The tent was fairly full but not obscenely so. 5gal pots are 12" in diameter, so 4 is the max for my space. 1gal pots are 6" diameter and so I could *technically* fit 16 in there at once. That would be assuming that each plant stays within the confines of its pot's diameter, which generally does not happen without extensive training. There are strains with minimal lateral branching that produce one long single cola of growth, but they are few and far between. When the girls I have in there currently are done (the 1gals and the back left 5gal) I will be starting another 5gal and 1 gal to mirror the two currently germing (test grow for a breeder here, 2 strains and we are to do competitive grows so 2 of each). After that, I'll decide if I want to do another run of strictly small pots, or if I will do one or two larger plants at a time (really just depends on where I am mental health wise at that point and what I anticipate being able to handle). I should have at least a pound by that point, so I'll be able to slow down on growing a bit without any fear of running out for quite some time.
