Greetings,

I've posted elsewhere, figured this area gets more traffic, maybe this post is best here. Received my PH meter, found low ph in the soil, ordered PH Up and Down and Hydrated Lime. Meanwhile the leaves have gotten yellower and many have fallen off. Its really sad :-( Today I received all of the above and have since watered with the hydrated lime at 3/4 teaspoon to the gallon then let it sit for an hour and flushed it thru a lil bit with some water with epsom salt in it.. So, it will be a few days before I can water them again I guess.. Here are pics, Plant 1 and 2 are Auto Pounders and plant 3 is a Big Buddha Super Automatic Sativa..

This was/is my very first attempt. Its a CFL grow and today is DAY 47...

ANY ADVICE IS COMPLETELY APPRECIATED!:cry:

PEACE!

Eh, it could be worse. You nipped it when you could. I had ph woes my first grow too. Good move going easy on the hydrated lime, dolomite is better its slow and consistent throughout the grow if mixed in the soil beforehand. Id count on your soil veering low for the next few waterings. Also you may as well order cal mag if you don't have it yet, magnesium deficiencies go hand in hand with low ph. If not your bloom nutes should have some, I'd add some next water should be 3 or 4 days right?

Also your best be for help is in the new growers forum, not as much traffic but folks are there to help and do.

oh and lime the water the next few waterings.

Thnx, I shall grab a cal mag nutrient next. I do have the Fox Farms trio Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom.. Question now is, do the plants currently need any of these and can I mix nutes with lime on the next watering?

Thnx and Peace

What was the pH reading before you added the lime? 3/4 of a teaspoon probably wasn't enough, and flushing it again after feeding the lime may have flushed a lot of it right back out of the soil.

The ph was 4.0 on 1 plant and 5.0 on the other 2. I just did a reading now and they are each at 5.5.. Tis a sad thing watching them whither away.. they look really awful today.. The flowers dont look bad but the yellowing is now way into the smaller leaves.

grrr

peace

keep going.... get them in the right rnge immediately mate:

ph vs uptake.gif

you're gettin there... dont give up... :toke:

Next feeding, up it to 1 tablespoon per gallon of feed.

OK, Fed the plants again last night, used a whole tspn of lime, small portions of the 3 fox farms nutes and a lil touch of epsom salt. The soil PH is now at 5.5 in all 3 plants, The solution going in was at 7.5.. I am starting to think that maybe the yellowing is just part of the growing process.. I am on day 53, life is 60-70 days... I shall see..

PEACE!
