New Grower why to put your plants in small pots first?

I got a grow 4 days ahead of you so will be keeping a close eye and know the feeling :smokebuds:

hey cool!!! which strains? which light? could you please give me a link to your thread? ;)

@all:

i'm sorry, i thought, i got it, what "tierring" means, but when i read it again, i still can't understand the real meaning. could please anyone be so patient and explains it to me once again? :)

and to put pots in pots, with the ground of the pot in the middle cut off - i really heard that the very first time. i quite don't understand it - it is so easy not to overdo with water in the "normal" pots - for me. must have a "green thumb" (do you know this idiom in english to? in germany it is "gruener daumen":)

i think, i will transplant from jiffy to 3 liter pot and then finally into 11 liter pots in my second grow. so i can evaluate and compare which way is
the best for me.

... it is so amazing here in this forum; being helping and learning with you all together in this forum.

you guys do great and i'm happy to become a part of this "family"!!! thank you for welcoming me that friendly and helpful way!!! ;)

sincerely yours,

I grow one at a time due to needs and space with a 250watt HPS, have got a Big Buddha Chiesel at day 4 atm... A basic explanation is you plant your seedlings into a small pot, you carefully remove the bottom with knife and instead of transplating (saves stress to roots and easier to water) simply place it into a larger pot... I dont use this method personally so cant tell you the inner details on it...

The idiom Green thumb is English and refers to good grower/ good with plants

Hoping for hard frosty buds for ya

I start in peat pots and when I start to see roots on the outside I transplant into a larger container, pot and all. No transplant shock, as there is no disturbance of the roots. The roots just keep growing outside the original peat pot into the new container. I just be careful that the soil level stays the same at the base of the plant.

how is it with jiffys? do you put them in one piece in a 3 liter pot, or am i supposed to throw away the jiffy and only plant the plant in a bigger pot? do you understand this question? ;)

That's the whole point of jiffys, put the whole thing in the ground :D:

oumph... embarrassing, hehe :D ... i'm sorry for this elementary question, but this is my very first grow and there is so much to learn. well, i try my very best! :D

i have heard, that in jiffys, there is a fertilizer for the roots within? is that right?

Don't worry , never be afraid or embarrassed to ask anything. I ask things about elementary stuff all the time :D:. Sometimes I even forget how to read.
I hope your first grow is going to be a success! You'll see that things will go better everytime :High 5:.
