Interesting to hear your experience. I'm new at this, but it is my impression that initial temps are a frequent reason for problems with germinating, especially but not only in final pots. I gave four seeds to a friend of mine, and he killed every one of them, I am sure due to attempting germination at cold temps. I planted eight of the same batch, and had 100% germination. I had to give some away because I had no room for them. The difference between 0% and 100% was temperature.

I wrote 2 threads on seed starting, you hit the nail on the head. That is why I have been transplanting my Organic girls. But will be abke to start direct in new tent.

Sounds good. Not sure that I will ever graduate to organic - I like the idea, but not sure whether the difference in quality is worth the work for me. Or the pests... After my grow this summer, dealing with the like of those bloody knats is not high on my fun list. Also, I am not sure that this old fart could detect the higher quality anyway. One of these days, I will get next to some of the really good organic weed and see what it vapes like. And then... who knows.

Graduate to Organics, I had to laugh case I’m thinking how the flip would I ever get all those ratios of fertilizers and nutrients down - In my way of thinking Organics are simpler and for sure less work than hydro simply buy this Probiotic Garden Kit - https://earthbox.com/probiotic-wellness-garden-system

Follow the easy planting instructions and grow some of the best weed of your life and no bugs either - the plastic shower c so helps prevent gnats from cycling thru your soil plus no watering skills required, just fill the water holding tank - it waters itself and plants grow like Hydro grows, brother I beat out 15 other growers in a grow battle with this method and it was my first grow - just watch this thread over the next few weeks - if I can keep my act together we should have some pretty good plants and for sure Organic is the best tasting / smelling / textured weed I’ve ever had - hope you reconsider it might amaze you how easy and rewarding growing in a Sub Irrigated Planter - SIP CONTAINER - can be, ask @slowandeasy - a seasoned 20 year coco grower.

Strawberry NUGS Left about 34 Days .... Right Gold Glue Right about 40 days

Gold Glue is stretching some and buds are forming and they have a nice sticky feel and good pine like smell .....

NUGS is just starting to flower and not much yet on sticky or smell but she has had lots of leaf tucking and training - many buds sites exposed - hope lots of fat buds follow.

I am forever fighting heat. Probably why my germ issues is minimal to none. Idea of soil thermometer is interesting. Hope it’s not too expensive lol

I gotta call you out on the battle part @MrOldBoy I joined 8 battles so far in a span of two rounds (2 then 6). Won both in first round. Won another 3 next round but placed for all 6 I entered. None of the plants were organic. LOS don’t win battles much compared to good training IMO but that’s obviously not what we’re after. We want the very best buds we can grow with our hands! Sorry if this sounds like a show off. I kinda feel like it does reading back but I’m fresh off an overfilled Mighty chamber with HSO”s Dedoverde Haze Auto. This is an awesome smoke! LOL

I am also close to finding out if @slowandeasy is correct about why some of my plants last round is not very frosty? According to slow, it may be due to excessive training messing with internal clock.

well, I got two autos that I trained as per my usual cruel methods. One Candy Dawg from SeedStockers which is Ind dom. Another is Beast Mode from Megabuds. Most Sativa dom I’ve grown. At day 65 or so, Beast Mode has just begun to start full flower. Candy Dawg is in week 1 flower tops. So I’d say their clock is messed up for sure. Let’s see if they frost. I already have a Dinafem Cookie frosting like snow but trained to the limits but she is not so big. Candy Dawg and Beast Mode are huge so will be interesting!
