Mephisto Genetics White Crack + Sour Livers SIP LOS Grow

Looking like raising the light is helping a little with the stretching. Your plants are extremely bushy, they actually would benefit from a stretch. You choose bushy strains, but I believe if you allow the seedlings to stretch a little right out if the gate you will see a different shape forming. However it is a fine line and if you let them stretch too much your 2x4 tent will fill up super easy. I personally think you are doing an excellent job. I want to decrease the stretch on many of my seedlings. Actually my goal is to do like @Organic Sinse does and start my seeds in their final pot in Organics. I had an issue with space and temps, but that will be fixed. Since my 7x7 tent is coming down I will have a couple smaller tents. The one small tent is specifically for seed starting/cloning and will have the ability to start 4 Juniors at once with heat controller and heating mat in it at all times. The dedicated tent will allow me to get the Juniors up to 80-85F for about 10 days and start directly in final pot. If you keep the mousture level right and the temps up, theoretically the seedling should have the least amount of stress and food available as soon às they need it. I almost always transplant my seedlings in Coco. But I feel like with Organics that the seedling would do best directly planted ONLY if you can keep temps up to 80F-85F. If the temps are 70f- 75F I wouldnt bother, because the lower temps would slow the root growth down. Until I get that tent I will use Rootmakers and transplant. We will have a good idea how well the rootmakers work by the time I get my other tent set up for direct planting. I will be able to start 4 Juniors in 1 2x4 and will be able to keep the temps and humidity perect. Peace, slow

:thanks: slow, appreciate it .....

For sure slow, raising light has helped - there is some stretch ....... I’m still in the early stages of light learning - even with meters and all available it comes down to experience and individual plant light requirements- I mean to tell you 24k is the happiest she has been since I moved her to a new location with less light .....

Also working on babies stretching so been keeping light higher - I’m getting some stretch On Sour Livers - I see @Dabber has grown several nice Sour Livers so I’m excited knowing what they should look like - a pic of Sour Livers, 10 days old and a day away from transplant ......

When you get new tent setup and can dial in the temps / humidity makes a difference ..... good luck slow.

Peace,
MOB

What do you guys think of starting from seed straight into the earthbox?

In my no tills I just plant seed right into the soil just as nature intended. I was thinking for a SIP like an earthbox or growbox or whatever SIP you're using perhaps still start the seed staight into the container cover box as per usual with sock so the main system is not affected cut the sock to size just give the seedling a little dome.

@Organic Sinse & @Tom Sowell very nice girls

MOB I just finished a Sour Livers a bit ago. She was around 32” tall, harvested at 79 days and yielded 108 g.

cheers

Sinse, it is always good to see your work - your grows are always on target - So 108 grams dry - I’ll be happy if I can get that my gal - time will tell.

Solid plant - check out he colors - thanks for stopping by and posting!

In my case it would be hard to keep temps right for the little ones so I opt to transplant - I will be doing a direct plant once I get a little starter tent setup but due to space and electric restraints it is not feasible at this time.

Good call on the early temps. The babies like to start warm...

I always say for the living soil auto grower, trade in that pH pen for a soil thermometer. I wholeheartedly agree, if you can’t get good temps in your final containers, transplant is the ticket. I could never get away with starting in 10 gals without heat mats, especially in the winter.
cheers

Interesting to hear your experience. I'm new at this, but it is my impression that initial temps are a frequent reason for problems with germinating, especially but not only in final pots. I gave four seeds to a friend of mine, and he killed every one of them, I am sure due to attempting germination at cold temps. I planted eight of the same batch, and had 100% germination. I had to give some away because I had no room for them. The difference between 0% and 100% was temperature.
