Mephisto Genetics White Crack + Sour Livers SIP LOS Grow

@MrOldBoy I recently saw but can't remember where it was posibally reddit someone using the growbox not earthbox and they where airating the resivoir which was giving them crazy growth the roots where in the res and soil.

Wish a bookmarked where I saw it.

Have you tried airating your res before? I think it's easier in the growbox because it has a spout area in the middle of the res where you can see the water levels and that where you fill it from too. This is where the grower was airating from.

If I happen to find it again I will post the link

Oddly I have given that some thought and then just other day I was watching YouTube and they made mention of it, curious I was all ears and they talked briefly about aerobic and anaerobic growing and it might benefit but hadn’t done ..... Now you make mention and I am now going to give it a try ..... my plan is to run tubing down side of Container and rhru the holes already in the bottom dirt holding raised insert and run two bubble tubes on low inside - so yes, I’m going to give it a try - for sure it should add air to the medium from below - might get crazy wild results!

I would not run Air in a Junior @MrOldBoy , roots get damaged by the air if for some reason the reservoir goes too low. My rez are empty daily without Air, so you would need to make sure you keep your rez from drying up. Peace, slow

Also fwiw, I have personally ran Airdomes with Autopots and without many times. So I know first hand what happens. With Autos the Air injection can actually extend the grow time. Like hydro with autos, the roots keep growing and it tends to extend veg and bloom cycles. That being said, I used Coco. I cannot make claims on how soil will react vs coco. I do know that the roots are very sesnsitive if your rez drys up. Even 1 time too much with the added air injection can cause issues, like nutrient burn type symptoms on leaves and/or underwatering symotoms. If yoi want to try it, go with the Orginals...not Juniors. You will have much more soil in Orginals, so your pots will stay wet longer. If you to try it, you should get that automated watering system or plan to manually water a lot more than you do now. You will need to keep the rez full always for best results. Never getting too low, ever. Just keep that in mind. Also, the plants csn get larger snd tske longer, so plan ahead. Peace, slow

I think with the earthbox it might be difficult to judge the level of water. The SIP that the reddit user is using is a growbox planter and can easily see the water leves and roots etc...

Intersting stuff you wrote about air injection.
The thing I try to avoid with Autos is extending the grow time. Autos life cycles and Roots are linked together. Autos done in Hydro often go much longer because the roots keep growing and the plants can also get larger. Larger roots and larger plants often mean extended grow time. The Earthbox Juniors Rez is not large and it deys up fast. Adding air to it will dry things up even faster. If the rez doesnt dry up EVER, the plants will do better. But if it drys up, your roots dont like it. Larger pots are safer to use Air with than smaller pots. I personally wouldnt try it with Juniors unless you have Automated watering. It might work with a deep rezervoir better. The Juniors very low profile. Peace, slow

Yeah I think that is where the growbox differs from the earthbox you can see right into the res.

Have a look at it no fill tube just pour straight into the res from the front no overflow issues etc... I think they just improved on the earthbox

Reservoir dries quickly in the original too, as well as the Junior - Sam was drinking over 2 gallons a day in the original at her peak, res capacity is 2 gallons in original and 1 gallon in the Junior ......

Knowing the reservoir dries quickly I would put a timer on the pump - no rule says air has to run full time - The Risk / Reward is worth a try!

My Sam flowered later than yours guessing because Sam had bigger root system?
