Mephisto Genetics White Crack and Kis Organics Soil

Are you bottom or top feeding or both?
Today I had to pull the shell off of the 1. I wont be feeding much the first 5 to 7 days. When I water it will be brief bottom dunk and just minor hydration on top with a syringe to keep the top layer from drying out. I like to have it moist, not wet. Bottom dunking reduces overwatering from the top. Less is more. I avoid soaking at all cost.

That about sums up my procedure as well - I’ll put drop in each corner and then work perimeter patiently - lot of lifting and looking - I try to keep them perfect moisture level but allow top to dry some to avoid mold issues and I like to shade dome with dull piece of plastic so first light is a little lower.

Day 1 Magic Cookies. I have 2 seedlings started in Rootmakers and 2 in a cup of water since last night. Will check for tails in a while, I will leave in water for 36 hours and then plant...tail or no tail. Not been 24 hours yet, they are in my black heated tote at 85F. This time I am going to mix in a little Kis Soil and pinch of EWC, along with Mycos. Kis soil will be hand sifted and mixed with Starter soil towards the bottom, not the top layer. This way I can leave them in Rootmakers for the full 12 to 14 days without worrying abount hunger issues. Next week when I start the ROC IT FUEL, I will be doing 1 Rootmaker and 1 direcrly planted. This will give us 5 plants in Rootmakers to compare agsinst directly planting. I will inspect the Root Systems when finished, but for now we need to see how the growth is and speed of finishing. Will the Rootmakers win in the long run because of the Root structure or will Directly planted cruise on into the finish line faster due to no slow downs? The directly planted Grape Rolex is way ahead of the 5oz cup plant. No comparison. I am actually surprised at how short the directly planted seed is staying.

When I start in Cups or Rootmakers I always get a little stretch right away. This girl had plenty of light since day 1 and has no stretch at all in veg so far. Very healthy looking, and compact. It is 3x the size of the Transplanted one. I waited til day 12, and that was my mistake. She got hungry at day 10, should have trsnsplanted at day 8 using the 5oz cups. Oh well, no big deal. Just proves my theory and yours as well. I dont mind using a plant as an example, it just confirms our points. Roots are everything to Autos, avoid rootbinding and transplant before they get hungry. You want to stay ahead of the game, not get behind ever. I am excited to see all of these new strains! Will be interesting to see how they do with a little Kis Soil mixed into the rootmakers. In theory it should help, and i believe it will make a difference vs without any Kis Soil mixed. By day 8, I believe most Autos can start to eat more. That leaves 4 to 6 days of grow time before transplanting, plus the 3 to 4 day transplant slow down. So that is over a week of potential food for the seedling, that should make a difference in upward growth and Root development as well. Peace, slow

They should be just fine and you can always give them a little fish fertilizer at one tenth dose at day 8 and add in some Thrive B1 around day 10 to help heal roots from any nicks when transplanting, important step give it a try along with a smidge of fish and have pot partial damp and earthbox should be ready now - - backfill hole around an empty rootmaker in place in soil and mist soil even if damp and then pull empty and insert transplant and gently press into place, no backfilling required and no water required but mist top if you like but lightly, really no water everything is already damp and set - monitor several times daily at first but then all should be well .... slow, understand you’ve transplanted 1,000 but I wanted to share whats been working And share the empty backfill as some will dig big hole, insert plant and then backfill - no no no - put empty pot into hole and backfill and moisten soil and then pull and transplant - works like magic every time!

Peace,
MOB

Yeah I always make a hole with the cups and back fill with the cup still in the hole and pull it out when ready to transplant. I have done it that way forever, but thanks for sharing for others to learn. I have taught a few people the same thing, and they all said, "that is way better and easier!" When I transplant Coco clones I make the pots up the night before with precharged Coco and pack the Coco around the cup and leave it there til transplant next day. Remove the cup and plopp the seedling in to the perfect sized hole. Btw, stop wasting your Rootmakers bro. Follow my lead and you can reuse them. No need to cut the sides. Simply push inwards on each side to loosen up the soil, you will.see it pull away from the sides. Do that a few times on each side. Then turn the seedling upside down like a sandcastle. It will plopp right out and put it in your premade hole. Peace, slow

Alrighty then! I just planted 2 Purple Scoops, and added a little bit of Kis Soil to the bottom of the Roitmakers. I used the starter soil and then added a lttle Kis Soil and mixed them up. Then straight starter mix to the top of the Rootmakers]

Roots could be lacking oxygen not allowing them to uptake nutrients - Might wanna hold off on any top watering other than a simple spray when putting down any kind of dry nutrients ..... Just saying I never top watered my gal Sam grown in an EarthBox, I only spray misted dry amendments ......

Also I add EM1 or Mammoth P with every watering ..... EM1 / Mammoth P help make micro bio thingies which in turn produces oxygen - I am not smart enough to give detailed explanation but I do know the Pro Grower I follow uses every EM1 or Mammoth P every watering ..... I also just yesterday watched a YouTube Podcast and oxygen to the roots in earthbox was discussed and the podcast reaffirmed using EM1 / Mammoth P every watering ......

I have three different Juniors growing now so as I move along into days 40-60 will see how my Juniors preform.

Add em1 to your earthbox reservoir?
