Mephisto Genetics White Crack and Kis Organics Soil

Soinds like a plan slow, good luck my friend.
I think the added Kis soil is gonna make a difference. If the Rootmaker plants get a little dose of food while developing, it should grow faster than without any Kis soil mixed in. I dont think it will burn the seedling, I put it at the bottom and mixed it up with Starter Soil. I have enough starter soil to start 2 more seedlings. Monday Roc it Fuel will be soaked. 24 hours later I will Directly plant 1 seed and the Other will be in a Rootmaker. That will give us a better idea on how they compare. I have given Rootmakers more than a fair shot, ao lets see how they compare!?

Perfect - lets see how this run goes .... how’s direct plant girl doing, how old now?

She is doing excellent. I have to go back and count the days. Need to transplant a Chemdoggin tomorrow as well. I have the 2 Purple Scoops waiting to break the surface and 2 Magic Cookies on day 2. My Fast Master plants filled the scrogg pretty decently so far. I flipped them to 12/12, day 6 of 12/12 today. Supposidly a 7 week Flowering strain. We shall see. She is stretching as we speak, hopefully she flowers as fast as they claim.

I think @Organic Sinse has a decent amount of knowlege about the benefits of directly planting. This is my first time directly planting into soil. So even tho I have a ton of experience...I have none with directly planting Autos in soil, but a ton with Coco. However my Coco pots are much smaller. Pot size is a big factor on how warm the medium stays. This is why I say that Directly planting in Soil is ONLY beneficial when you can keep your medium warm. It is much easier to keep Rootmakers in a Hotbox with Heating pad the optimal temps. So that route is best for many. But with Juniors I rewlly feel like it keeps the medium perfect moisture for root development, if you have the warmer temps for the first 10-14 days. After that you can drop the temps. But 80-85F is ideal for them at the beginning. I am pretty confident that it is actually the ability for the seedling to reach food sooner more than anything. If you start in cups or Rootmakers with Starter Soil, they dont have much food. So by day 9-10 they can safely reach the Kis Soil if directly planted. But trsnsplanted seedlings I wait til day 12 and then they take 3 to 4 days to take off. Autos have an internal clock, so a week is a big deal IMO. I will do 2 new Roc Bud Inc seeds for comparison...will be here Sat. Im not saying that the Transplanted plants wont do as well, but from this observation the Directly planted seed is going to be week ahead in total growth time. Peace, slow
I'm about a week behind on my reading, but sinse ya asked about the benefits of directly sowing seeds I had to answer. I agree with every good reason you mentioned for directly planting. Its all I have ever done and works outstanding. The thing I would add is that on a microbial level you are setting up the pathways that both the plants and microbes use for the whole life of the plant. The sooner that network is set up and running, the more they both will benefit. Very important with fast growing plants like autos.
I also agree, you got to have good temps. I cheat all kinds of ways to bring the soil temps up. I use mats, water with very warm water, make mini green houses on top of the pots, blow the hot air down off my cobs, what ever I need to do. A lot of the time I will stick my pots right in front of a heater for a few hours, right before I plant the seeds.
cheers

Good advice os, I try to prep my pots a day before transplanting so the medium is up to higher temps...prepping clone medium a day ahead helps with clones as well. Consistent temps 80-85F will root a clone much faster than at 75F. Its all about the temps for roots, weather starting a seed or cloning.

Do I see a Bingo over there, yes we have a winner, mr. slow wins with double Purple! :vibe:
Tell you what MOB, these RocBudInc strains have been some nice plants! The Grape Rolex is some of the frostiest stuff i have done in a while! Really nice to have some variety, but really good is even better!!
