Mephisto Genetics White Crack and Kis Organics Soil

Oh yeah, because I know the Juniors hold less than they claim I am going to pick up some Aloe flakes, Silica, and K-Mag. I personally think the Juniors would benefit from some extra love. The Silica and Aloe will help with Health and strength. The K-Mag will help avoid Mag def and will add some K for better Flowering. I am not going to use URB MICROBES anymore. I noticed the Mag def started after I used it last. Even though I don't use a lot, I don't think it helped and possibly caused harm. I have seen URB cause some leaf discoloration on younger plants with small root systems in the past when I used it in Coco.

I wish I had enough strength to grow a control/baseline grow -- I can't not tinker. Going to add a tiny bit of EWC this weekend, and contemplating a bi-weekly spoon feeding regimin, alternating between half-dose EWC/humus and bag ferts. She's looking pretty good and stress free though.

I stuck to the not tinkering, so I had a baseline idea of what the soil can do on its own. I used RO water from the start as I was afraid of Chlorine. I have since been told that tap water would be better. So I will start using Tap water. I will let it sit a day or so before using. I guess it's worth a try, it has a decent amount of Cal-Mag in it anyways. I was told the minor amount of Chlorine would actually be beneficial to the Rez. What are you using? I would say that top dressing with Juniors is gonna be the key to best success. To help maximize it, the starting soil is 5 gal max. I plan on doing a weekly top dress at the start of preflowering on my future plants. Maybe once in veg. I am excited to see yours grow. Good luck slowandeasy

I'm using straight well water, which is 220ppm. The size of the juniors (and probably 5 gallons should be similar) is what kind of led me to spoon feeding a bit. I'll willingly trade top dressing every couple weeks -vs- mixing nutes. I have plenty of RO, would prefer not using it.

Granted I'm flying blind here, first organic grow and ~ 1 year total under my belt.

But most things I've read have a monthly feed schedule. The Dr Earth ferts I bought have a monthly (or bimonthly) schedule as well. I'm still sorting out how all these "inputs" contribute, and wondering if my hydro "feed schedule" mentality is harshing my organic mellow. I'd like to work some EWC/compost top dressings in, and not sure how their value compares to, say.... 2-2-2 organic ferts. And whether AACT counts as feed, or just microbes, or if I am over complicating everything.

Learning this is fun. Coco has always been a struggle for me, seems like I dance around the dial. Heck even in the picture I posted, you can sneak a peak of a magdef coco leaf on the right side. I've buffered, bought buffered, still get cal or mag issues. If I ran it again I would hammer the living fuck out of calmag and try ti beat it into submission. Or buy GH nutes and try Dr Coco's schedule straight up.

Here is a pic of the bucket system I'm trying. And for the heck of it, a fugue state in dwc that's getting frosty :)

Slow note the water indicator in the fill tube @MMMi has - he is using a grobucket Amazon product

Right now the water level is close to full but when the indicator goes down to yellow it’s time to add water .......

With the EarthBox I made a dipstick that I would put down into the reservoir and then pull back out and read water level ..... dipstick was made from garden tie wire that had one end wrapped with pipe cleaners - I could see how far up the pipe cleaner was wet and I would know how much remained in the tank and fill accordingly ..... you could make same from a stick and wrap pipe cleaners around .......

I was constantly topping off the water, I liked to keep Sam’s tank nice and full, she was drinking over two gallons a day at her peak ......

Just an idea I thought I would throw out there!

Peace,
MOB

I am home so much that I don't feel the need to keep it overflowing full daily anymore. Mine would use about a gal per day to overflow. But always has had visible water in the tube. I backed off for a few days. Now I add a gal and no run off. That is what I want if I am home daily. If I go away I will have her Overflow each watering. I know 1 gal per day is about the max used this grow per day. I honestly feel like I caused the little hiccup from using URB MICROBES and having too much water in the Rez. Meaning the roots floating in the Rez were somehow effected by the direct contact with the URB. Potentially changing the pH. Root zone issues are always a possibility with standing water. Not saying that I was over watering or that you can't water to overflow daily witg just water. But adding Microbes in my Rez water had something to do with it. I didn't use it like that with my other plants and they are not doing anything like that. Lesson learned. Ibam using Tap water now too, with advice from @OrganicSinse. Thanks for the support everyone. Peace, slowandeasy

@slowandeasy - Sounds like you have a part hydro grow - put an air-stone in the reservoir. :haha:

Looking great! I forget what kind of Soil you have to start with? I put a cup over my Feeding tube to keep stuff out of it. Peace slowandeasy

Honestly, I think I did have a water root system down there from having it full of water all of the time basically. I could see roots floating in there. Healthy, but water roots. So Urb Microbes potentially screwed things up by having possible bacteria or pH changing effects from URB Microbes direct contact with those hydro like roots. Oh well, I learned a lesson. She isn't getting worse. But water only in my Rez from now on! If I add anything to water, I will top dress and water a little from the top. Tap water only in my Rez from now on. But I will grab some SILICA and, and use a little in my Water to help with plant Health and stress. I was going to grab some Aloe, but will hold off. @OrganicSinse said he only Foliar feeds with it now. I will get some in the future, but not on the top of my list. I want to grab some Top dressing stuff instead. I can see how it will help and I want to have a plan for my plants moving forward. @MrOldBoy suggested a Craft mix and Flower Top Dress from Build a Soil. I will grab that tomorrow online. I am going to take a few Clones and do an experiment. 2 Clones in each Junior. Veg 1 week or 2 and then I will flip. This strain is a fast flowering plant, so they won't be able monsters. Taking Clones tonight. They will have Roots in 5 to 7 days. I will veg a few days and transplant. Veg another week and flip. I am excited to see how they do in Soil and Juniors. Peace slowandeasy
